This patch modifies tools templates so that title tags can be
more easily translated. The patch also makes some modifications to
titles, breadcrumb navigation, and page headers in order to make them
more consistent with each other and with other similar pages.
To test, apply the patch and go to Tools. Test each of the following
pages and each variation of the page to confirm that titles,
breadcrumbs, and page headers look correct.
- Tools home page
- Import patrons
- Import results
- Notices and slips
- Main page
- Main page filtered by library
- New notice
- Edit notice
- Preview notice: With a CHECKIN, CHECKOUT, or HOLD_SLIP notice,
fill in the "Data for preview" box in the "Email" section.
Although the template loads in a modal window which doesn't show
the page title, you can confirm that there are no errors.
- Overdue notice/status triggers
- Batch patron deletion
- Confirmation page
- Batch patron modification
- Batch extend due dates
- Upload patron images
Print notices: With useDischarge enabled, log into the OPAC as a
user with no checkouts. Go to the "Ask for a discharge" tab and click
"Ask for a discharge."
Locate the patron's record in the staff interface and click "Discharges"
in the left-hand sidebar menu. Click "Generate discharge." Open the
resulting PDF file in a browser. The page title should be "Print notices
for [date]."

This patch restructures the template markup around the part of the
notice edit screen where the system tracks how many characters have been
entered in an SMS message. The change is intended to make translation
easier.
To test, apply the patch and run the translation script to update the
.po files, e.g.
perl misc/translator/translate update fr-FR
Check the updated .po files:
- In fr-FR-staff-prog.po there should not be a line with the string "160
characters"
- In fr-FR-messages.po the string should have been picked up like this:
msgid "{content_length} / 160 characters"
msgstr ""
- Add a translation to fr-FR-messages.pl and install the updated
translation:
perl misc/translator/translate install fr-FR
- Switch to the update language in the staff interface and go to Tools ->
Notices. Edit any notice and expand the "SMS" block. (you may be asked
to enable SMSSendDriver).
- Confirm that the "X/160 characters" text updates correctly as you
enter content into the textarea. Confirm that the same is true when
you switch to your updated translation.

The FontAwesome class "fa-pencil-alt" works in v.6 but is actually a v.5
class. We should use "fa-solid fa-pencil" instead.
This patch also corrects some leftover instances of "fa-edit"
To test, apply the patch and view some pages in the OPAC and staff
interface which have updated icons, e.g.
- Administration -> Libraries
- Catalog -> Bibliographic details
- OPAC -> Bibliographic details
Confirm that the pencil icon looks correct. Checking all modified
templates is probably too much, but inspecting the patch should show
that only fa-pencil-alt and fa-edit icons are affected.

This patch fixes a conflict between the template-generated markup and
Bootstrap JS which were both competing to show the correct default tab.
It's simpler to rely on JavaScript.
To test, apply the patch and enable the TranslateNotices system
preference if necessary.
- Go to Tools -> Notices & slips
- Go to edit any notice e.g. DUEDGST
- The page should load with the "Default" tab selected by default.
- Enter unique titles and contents under each tab to confirm that the
data you see under the "Default" or "English (en)" tab is being shown
in the right place.
- Save your modified notice and edit it again to confirm that the tabs

This patch updates templates which have already been updated to use the
new tab WRAPPER system for generating tab markup. Templates are changed
so that tab label strings are wrapped in <span> to make them
translatable.
The html_helpers include file is also updated so that the example code
in comments shows the right pattern (the breadcrumb example is similarly
corrected).
To test apply the patch and run the translation script to update the .po
files, e.g.
perl misc/translator/translate update fr-FR
Check the updated .po files for some of the lines modified in the patch:

the use of WRAPPERs.
This patch also makes a minor correction to the color of Bootstrap
panels.

TranslateNotices preference should be enabled.
- Apply the patch and go to Tools -> Notices.

Replace occurences of 'Notices & slips' with 'Notices and slips'
(replacing '&' and '&' with 'and'), as per the terminology
guidelines.
See the terminology list:
https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Terminology
Test plan:
1. Find occurrences of 'Notices & slips':
- git grep 'Notices & slips' -- :^misc/translator/po
- git grep 'Notices & slips'
2. Review places in the staff interface where 'Messages & slips' is
displayed:
- Tools home page
- Tools > Notices & slips: page title and breadcrumb
- Other breadcrumbs:
. Tools > Notices & slips > New notice > [select any module]
. Tools > Notices & slips > [select Edit for any notice]
. Tools > Notices & slips > [select Delete for any notice]
3. Review other occurences:
. The cron job description for misc/cronjobs/holds/holds_reminder.pl:
misc/cronjobs/holds/holds_reminder.pl -man (scroll down to the
description)
. The TalkingTech README file:
vi misc/cronjobs/thirdparty/TalkingTech.README
4. Apply the patch.
5. Re-run the grep queries from step 1 - no occurences are now found.
6. Review places where 'Notices & slips' was found in steps 2 and 3 -
these should all be replaced with 'Notices and slips' and should
read correctly.
7. Sign off!

The construct of [% ELSE %]0[% END %] breaks translations as it is
translated as [% ELSE %][% END %]. Note: No 0 in the ELSE statement.
This patchset either removes occurances of a lone 0 in template ELSE
statements, or splits it over multiple lines so the 0 is not removed in
the translated templates.
Test plan:
1. Install the en-NZ translation
2. Search the translated templates for '[% ELSE %][% END %]' and confirm
there are are instances of that
3. Apply patch
4. Update your en-NZ translation
5. Repeat step 2 and confirm there are no more instances of [% ELSE %][%
END %] in the translated templates
Note: I removed the [% ELSE %] statement from opac-bottom.inc as that
statement was empty in the en translation so it didn't look to be
needed.

This patch updates the notices edit interface in order to replace
jQueryUI accordion and tabs widgets with Bootstrap collapse and tabs.
To test, apply the patch and rebuild the staff interface CSS
(https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Working_with_SCSS_in_the_OPAC_and_staff_client).
- Set the TranslateNotices system preference to "Don't allow."
- Go to Tools -> Notices and edit any notice.
- On the "Modify notice" page you should see three collapsed sections:
Email, Print, and SMS.
- Clicking the section headings should expand and collapse the panels.
- With one of the panels open, click Save -> Save and continue editing.
- When the page reloads the same panel should be expanded.
- Enable the TranslateNotices system preference.
- Return to the edit interface for one of your notices.
- You should now see at least two tabs: Default and English.
- The sections under each tab should continue to work correctly.
- Test the "Save and continue" functionality again. When redirected you
should return to both the correct tab and the correct panel, e.g. the
"Print" section under the "English (en)" tab.

From its inception, phone notices via Talking Tech have not behaved like
other notices. Instead of reading notices generated by Koha, the Talking
Tech scripts largely generate their own notices.
We would like to pave the way to having "generic" phone notices that can
be processed by plugins to support arbitrary telephony vendors ( we will
be targeting Twilio initially ).
To that end, it seems sensible to begin by changing the messaage
transport type for Talking Tech from 'phone' to 'itiva' to

Note, the "MSG_NO_NOTICE_FOUND" usage has been removed because it didn't
work.
To test, apply the patch and go to Tools -> Notices & Slips.
- Use the "Copy" dropdown to copy an existing notice to a specific
library.
- Save the copied notice.
- Return to the "All libraries" view on the Notices & Slips page.
- Repeat the same process above: Copy the same notice to the same
library.
- When you click save on the "Add notice" page you should get an error
message, "A letter with the code 'ACCTDETAILS' already exists for
<library>"
- From the "All libraries" view on the Notices & Slips page, copy the
text in the "Code" column of an existing notice.
- Click "New notice" and choose the module of the notice you copied
from.
- On the "Add notice" page, paste the code into the "Code" field and
enter a name in the "Name" field.
- Click "Save" without making any other changes. You should get an error
message, "Please fill at least one template."
- Enter some data into one of the message body fields but not message
subject, and click "Save" again.
- You should get an error, "Please specify title and content for
<notice>"
- Enter data in the message subject field and click "Save" again.
- You should get an error, "A default letter with the code <CODE>
already exists."
TESTING TRANSLATABILITY
- Update a translation, e.g. fr-FR:
> cd misc/translator
> perl translate update fr-FR
- Open the corresponding .po file for JavaScript strings, e.g.
misc/translator/po/fr-FR-messages-js.po
- Locate strings pulled from
koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/js/letter.js for translation,
e.g.:
msgid "Please fill at least one template."
msgstr ""
- Edit the "msgstr" string however you want (it's just for testing).
- Install the updated translation:
> perl translate install fr-FR
- Switch to your newly translated language in the staff client
and repeat the test plan above. The translated strings should
appear.

This patch set attempts to replace all the <i> tags with <em> and all
the <b> tags with <strong> in the staff interface.
I attempted to get all the templates, includes, and xslt files.
To test:
1. Review the changes as best as possible, looking for mistakes.
2. grep for <i> and <b> in the modules, includes, and xslt folders. You should get nothing/
3. If you grep '<\/i>' you should only see instances of Font Awesome.
4. If you grep '<\/b>' you should only see instances where caret is used.

We are preparing the ground with this patch. As the "Columns settings"
page will now add the ability to modify settings for the whole table, it
makes sense to rename the file and the variables.
Note that the controller script (admin/columns_settings.pl) and the yml
(admin/columns_settings.yml) files have not been moved to not break
shortcuts and abits people could have. But if QA decides, it could be
easy to do.

This patch adds comments to the template to highlight the markup
structure. It also corrects some minor markup errors.
This patch should have no effect on the interface or functionality.

This patch re-indents the template for notices and slips. It
makes only whitespace changes. It should have no effect on the behavior
of the page.
To test, go to Tools -> Notices & slips.
Test every aspect of the notice creation and edit process. At each step
the page should work correctly.

This patch modifies the Notices edit process so that if the user chooses
the "Save and continue" option the page reloads with the same panel open
which they were previously editing in.
To test, apply the patch and go to Tools -> Notices and Slips.
- Open a notice for editing.
- Expand one of the sections.
- Choose "Save and continue" from the button menu in the toolbar.
- When the page reloads, the section you expanded should be open
again.
- Test each section and test with no sections expanded.

This patch makes an incremental change towards fixing Bug 14358: The
"New notice" button is converted to a dropdown button which asks the
user to select a module to start with.
To test, apply the patch and go to Tools -> Notices. Test the "New
notice" button and confirm that module selections are reflected in the
notice add form you are shown.

Desired behavior of the script advance_notices.pl is that the sender
address on the notice message is that of the branch of the issues in
question. Thus, the solution is to generate digest messages per
branch.
To test:
1) Inspect unit test in t/db_dependent/cronjobs/advance_notices_digest.t and note that:
- There are three libraries
- There is a borrower
- The borrower is registered at library1
- The borrower has message preference wants_digest set to 1
- The borrower has message preference days_in_advance set to 1
- The content of the letter PREDUEDGST is '<<count>> <<branches.branchname>>'
- There are three items
- There is one issue per item
- There is one issues at library2
- There are two issues at library3
- The date_due of the issues are set to tomorrow
- For the default case (no -digest-per-message)
- It is asserted that there is one message in the message queue after running the script
- It is asserted that there are three items in the message.
- It is asserted that the branchname is that of the borrower's home library.
- For the case where -digest-per-message is enabled
- It is asserted that there are two messages in the message queue after running the script
- It is asserted that the item count of the message corresponding to library2 is 1
- It is asserted that the item count of the message corresponding to library3 is 2
- It is asserted that the branchnames are correct.
2) Run unit test: prove t/db_dependent/cronjobs/advance_notices_digest.t

Adding the --digest-per-branch switch turns the digest into one digest per
library. I think it makes perfect sense to keep the default behaviour
and hide this new functionality behind a command line switch.

This patch makes a number of changes in order to improve the way the
staff client's header menu adjusts at narrower browser widths:
- Updated version of Bootstrap 3.3.7 which includes the "collapse"
JavaScript plugin.
- Modified default Bootstrap CSS using Bootstrap's customization tool.
These changes facilitate the removal of some custom CSS (overriding
Bootstrap) from staff-global.scss.
- Added Bootstrap config file for loading customizations at
https://getbootstrap.com/docs/3.3/customize/
- Revised button classes for buttons in Bootstrap-styled toolbars.
The modified default CSS resets the base font size in Bootstrap to
better match our global CSS. A side-effect of this is that toolbar
buttons ended up looking smaller than they should. Changing the
button class solves this.
- Restructure the header menu in order to allow different rules to
govern the appearance of the navigational part of the menu
(Circulation, Search, etc) and the user menu (Set library, My
account, Log out).
- Modify the cart JS to so that the popup works well at narrow widths.
To test, apply the patch, regenerate the staff client CSS, and clear
your browser cache.
- Log in to the staff client and observe the layout of the header menu
as you adjust the browser to various widths.
- Confirm that sections of the menu "collapse" as the window gets
narrower.
- Confirm that dropdown menus behave correctly and that links work.
- Confirm that the Cart link works as expected when the cart empty
and when it has items.
- Install and enable multiple translations, including at least one
set of sub-languages (e.g. fr-FR and fr-CA).
- Test the appearance of the language menus in the footer at
various browser widths.
- View pages with button toolbars and confirm that they appear unchanged
(e.g. biblio detail page, patron detail page).
NOTE: While this patch is intended to make improvements to staff client
responsiveness, it does so within a limited scope. There are still many
pages which do not work well at narrower browser widths.
