- Run "perldoc misc/cronjobs/delete_patrons.pl"
- Note the absence of information about the potential conflict
between --not_borrowed_since and anonymization
- Apply this patch
- Re-run the perldoc command and make sure the note about

Added command line ooption logging and completion logging where
cronlogaction was already imported. We should probably standardize all
cronjobs, but this is a start
One cron didn't log on confirm, likely we need to update all crons to log
if confirm, and possibly not log if running in test mode? Another bug as well

On bug 17591 we discovered that there was something weird going on with
the way we export and use subroutines/modules.
This patch tries to standardize our EXPORT to use EXPORT_OK only.
That way we will need to explicitely define the subroutine we want to
use from a module.
This patch is a squashed version of:
Bug 17600: After export.pl
Bug 17600: After perlimport
Bug 17600: Manual changes
Bug 17600: Other manual changes after second perlimports run
Bug 17600: Fix tests
And a lot of other manual changes.
export.pl is a dirty script that can be found on bug 17600.
"perlimport" is:
git clone https://github.com/oalders/App-perlimports.git
cd App-perlimports/
cpanm --installdeps .
export PERL5LIB="$PERL5LIB:/kohadevbox/koha/App-perlimports/lib"
find . \( -name "*.pl" -o -name "*.pm" \) -exec perl App-perlimports/script/perlimports --inplace-edit --no-preserve-unused --filename {} \;
The ideas of this patch are to:
* use EXPORT_OK instead of EXPORT
* perltidy the EXPORT_OK list
* remove '&' before the subroutine names
* remove some uneeded use statements
* explicitely import the subroutines we need within the controllers or
modules
Note that the private subroutines (starting with _) should not be
exported (and not used from outside of the module except from tests).
EXPORT vs EXPORT_OK (from
https://www.thegeekstuff.com/2010/06/perl-exporter-examples/)
"""
Export allows to export the functions and variables of modules to user’s namespace using the standard import method. This way, we don’t need to create the objects for the modules to access it’s members.
@EXPORT and @EXPORT_OK are the two main variables used during export operation.
@EXPORT contains list of symbols (subroutines and variables) of the module to be exported into the caller namespace.
@EXPORT_OK does export of symbols on demand basis.
"""
If this patch caused a conflict with a patch you wrote prior to its
push:
* Make sure you are not reintroducing a "use" statement that has been
removed
* "$subroutine" is not exported by the C4::$MODULE module
means that you need to add the subroutine to the @EXPORT_OK list
* Bareword "$subroutine" not allowed while "strict subs"
means that you didn't imported the subroutine from the module:
- use $MODULE qw( $subroutine list );
You can also use the fully qualified namespace: C4::$MODULE::$subroutine

This patch allows multiple --category_code <categorycode> in delete_patrons.pl
The t/db_dependent/Members.t test has 2 added testcases with multiple category_code.
To test:
1) Run the test: prove -l . -v t/db_dependent/Members.t
2) This requires records in the database with at least two category codes. For example PT and ST.
3) Run the script: delete_patrons.pl --category_code PT
4) Confirm the number of patrons that would have been deleted.
5) Run the script: delete_patrons.pl --category_code PT --category-code ST
6) Confirm the number of patrons that would have been deleted.

Adds the ability to specify a file with the --file flag that
should be a list of borrowernumbers for deletion.
If used without other flags it will delete the list of borrowers,
if used with other flags it will treat the other criteria
as filters for the list.
To Test:
1) Specify a list, e.g. borrowers.txt, of borrowernumbers in the database and put them in a text file with one per line
2) Invoke the script like ./delete_patrons.pl --file borrowers.txt to delete those patrons
3) Populate the list with a mix of borrowers in a category and those not, say categoryfoo
4) Invoke the scirpt as ./delete_patrons.pl --category_code categoryfoo --file borrowers.txt
5) Only the borrowers in the file that have the specified category will be deleted

This patch moves the C4::Members::DelMember subroutine to the
Koha::Patron module.
The delete method must be overwritten to permit handling of patron's
holds.
Test plan:
(With the 2 patches applied)
1/ Create a patron with holds and owner of lists
2/ Delete patrons using the web interface:
- More > Delete on a patron page
- Batch patron deletion tools
3/ and the cronjob script
- perl misc/cronjobs/delete_patrons.pl -c [more options]
The patron should have been moved to the deletedborrowers table, his/her
holds and lists should have been deleted.

This patch removes the C4::Members::MoveMemberToDeleted subroutine in
order to replace it with the Koha::Patron->move_to_deleted method.
Next after this change, we will move C4::Members::HandleDelBorrower and
C4::Members::DelMember to the same module to simplify the code in
members/deletemem.pl and misc/cronjobs/delete_patrons.pl
Test plan:
1/ Delete a patron from the staff interface and make sure (s)he has been moved to
the deletedborrowers table.
2/ Use the "Batch patron deletion" tool (tools/cleanborrowers.pl) to
remove patron. Make sure the "Permanently delete these patrons" and "Move
these patrons to the trash" options work as before
3/ Same as previously but using the cronjob
misc/cronjobs/delete_patrons.pl.

This patch modify the delete_patrons.pl cronjob to deal with the
last_seen option.
To test it, you just have to use the --last_seen option and pass a valid
date (iso format)
Example:
perl misc/cronjobs/delete_patrons.pl --last_seen="1984-02-04" --confirm
will delete all the patrons who do not have been active since this date.

Passes all tests and QA script.
Tested various combinations of options:
./delete_patrons.pl
Gives a helpful message about the use of the script.
./delete_patrons.pl -h
Outputs useful information about the use of the script
and its various options.
./delete_patrons.pl --category_code ST --library CPL
Gives the correct results in numbers and deletion was done
properly.
Also tested:
--expired_before
--not_borrowed_since
-v
Testing various conditions where a delete should not occur:
- Patron has checkouts
Patron is not in list of patrons to delete (x patrons to delete)
- Patron has fines
Patron is still in list of patrons to delete (x patrons to delete)
Checked deleted patrons had been moved to deletedborrowers.
Notes about possible enhancements:
- only print the success message 'x patrons deleted' when confirm
flag was set
- patrons with current checkouts are silently excluded from the number
of patrons to be deleted. Printing the number with current checkouts
might be helpful.
Changes made:
Fixed a small error in the documentation: expired_date is expired_before.

[1] Patron deletion now happens atomically; if one part
of the process fails, the record isn't left in a
partially deleted state.
[2] The routine for handling lists properly during patron
deletion is now invoked.
[3] The script now prints an indication if it's run
without --confirm; otherwise, one might think that
patron records were actually being deleted.
[4] --verbose now actually does something.
Without --verbose, the script will print the dry-run
warning (if applicable), the number of patrons to be
deleted, and error messages.
With --verbose, the script will also print a line with
the borrowernumber of each patron to be deleted.
To test:
[1] Run the script with and without --verbose and compare
the, well, verbosity.
[2] Run the script without --confirm and note that the script
prints a message saying that it's running in dry-run mode.
[3] Use the script to try to delete one or more patrons that have
loans. Confirm that error messages are printed reporting
foreign constraints preventing the deletion. Also confirm that
no new rows are added to deletedborrowers for those patrons that
could not be completely deleted.
[4] Use the script to delete a patron that has a public list. Verify
that after the deletion, the public list still exists but now
has a null owner.
