OPAC password recovery allows to find out which email address belongs to an account. An attacker could systematically guess login names. If they hit an existing one, OPAC displays a message like:
An email has been sent to "xxx@yyy.zz".
Having a combination of login name and email, attackers could use the information e.g. for phishing or other personalized actions.
To reproduce:
- Enable OPAC password recovery (syspref OpacResetPassword)
- 'Guess' a login name e.g. by using a common pattern like ptester for Peter Tester
- If such account exists, you get to know the related email address
This patch removes the email address from the success message. Additionaly, it changes
wording to address Bug 18570 ('will be sent' instead of 'has been sent')

This patch adds some formatting to the error message a patron receives
when there are renewal failures in the OPAC.
This is pretty much the least which could be done to address this
problem. However, I don't think the issue can be fixed without
re-thinking how renewals are processed. Sending error messages back to
opac-user.pl via URL parameter isn't flexible enough.
To test, apply the patch and attempt to renew multiple items in the OPAC
which cannot be renewed for some reason, for instance because they have
been renewed too many times. The error messages should appear in a list
rather than strung together in one long block of text.

To prevent brute force attacks on Koha accounts, staff and opac, we need to
implement an account lockout process to Koha.
After a number of failed login attempts a users account would become locked.
The user would then need to use the reset password functionality to send a reset
token to their email account. After a successful password reset the lockout flag
would be removed.
The number of failed login attempts before lockout is configurable using a new
system preference 'FailedLoginAttempts'.
How does it work?
When a patron enter an invalid password, the borrowers.login_attempts value
for this patron is incremented. When this value reach the value of the
pref FailedLoginAttempts, the password comparison is not done and the
authentication is rejected.
This login_attempts field is reset when a patron correctly logs in. When
the account is locked the patron has to reset his/her password using
the OpacResetPassword feature or ask a staff member to generate a new
password.
If the pref is not set (0, or '') the feature is considered as disabled,
but the failed login attempts are stored anyway.
Test plan:
0/ Apply patch and execute the update DB entry
1/ Switch on the feature by setting FailedLoginAttempts to 3
2/ Use an invalid password to login at the staff or OPAC interface
3/ After the third consecutive failures, you will be asked to reset your
password if OpacResetPassword is set, or contact a staff member
4/ Switch on OpacResetPassword and reset your password
5/ Confirm that you are able to login
6/ Play with the different combinations
QA details: The trick happens in C4::Auth::checkpw, to make things clear
I had to create a return value (note the awesome name: @return) and
replace the 3 successives if statements with elsif. Indeed if one of
the condition is reached, it will return inside the given block.

This patch addresses template issues with the newly-added patron clubs
pages.
- Move Clubs tab out of second position in Circulation page tabs.
- Link patron name in enrollments list to the patron record
- Make page titles on some pages more specific
- Correct label "for" attributes so that it matches input id
- Correst style of buttons: Buttons in tables must be "btn-xs," all
Bootstrap buttons must have "btn-default."
- Correct "Edit" icons: Should be "fa-pencil"
This patch also revises the club template editing form to make it more
consistent with similar interfaces in Koha and (hopefully) make it more
clear.
To test, apply the patch and test adding clubs and club templates and
enrolling patrons in clubs via the staff client and OPAC. Confirm that
everything looks and work okay.

This patch adds a "Note" input field to checked out items in the "your summary"
section. The field allows patrons to write notes about the item checked out,
such as "this DVD is scratched", "the binding was torn", etc. The note will be
emailed to the library and displayed on item check in.
Patch adds two fields to the "issues" table - "note" and "notedate".
Patch adds syspref "AllowIssueNotes" - default off.

7) Go to OPAC main, you should see the global news item plus any items
for your home branch for the current user if logged in.
8) Above the news, you will see a dropdown that lists the branches.
Select one, and click "Change library."
9) You should now see global news and the news for the selected branch,
regardless of whether logged in or not.

* Removed the "change library" link
* Added a label to the field.

opac-readingrecord.pl was actually already set up to do this, the option
to sort by author was just not put into the tt file. This patch adds
that.

From the second patch of bug 15545:
Removing some unused template code related to a former approach.
Adding some changes for future extension by bug 15545.
This patch was tested by Liz Rea when the routine IsHoldNoteRequired was
called by opac-reserve.pl. The only change here is that we do not yet
call this routine; so leaving her original signoff.

The C4::Members::GetBorrowersWithIssuesHistoryOlderThan subroutine is supposed
to return the patrons with an issue history older than a given date.
It would make more sense to return a list of Koha::Patrons.
On the way, the code from AnonymiseIssueHistory will be moved as well to
anonymise_issue_history.
Note that these 2 subroutines are strongly linked: one is used to know the
number of patrons we will anonymise the history, the other one is used to
anonymise the issues history. The problem is that the first one is not used to
do the action, but only for displayed purpose.
In some cases, these 2 values can differ, which could be confusing.
Case 1:
The logged in librarian is not superlibrarian and IndependentBranches is set:
if 2+ patrons from different libraries match the date parameter, the interface
will display "Checkout history for 2 patrons will be anonymized", when actually
only 1 will be.
Case 2:
If 2+ patrons match the date parameter but one of them has his privacy set to
forever (privacy=0), the same issue will appear.
This patch moves the code from C4::Members::GetBorrowersWithIssuesHistoryOlderThan
to Koha::Patrons->search_patrons_to_anonymise and from
C4::Circulation::AnonymiseIssueHistory to
Koha::Patrons->anonymise_issue_history
Test plan:
1/ Confirm the 2 issues and make sure they are fixed using the Batch
patron anonymization tool (tools/cleanborrowers.pl)
2/ At the OPAC, use the 'Immediate deletion' button to delete all your
reading history (regardless the setting of the privacy rule)
3/ Use the cronjob script (misc/cronjobs/batch_anonymise.pl) to
anonymise patrons.

This features would add the ability to create clubs which patrons may be
enrolled in. It would be particularly useful for tracking summer reading
programs, book clubs and other such clubs.
Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Run updatedatabase.pl
3) Ensure your staff user has the new 'Patron clubs' permissions
4) Under the tools menu, click the "Patron clubs" link
5) Create a new club template

a new club is created based on the template, or a new enrollment
is created for a given club based on the template.
6) Create a new club based on that template
7) Attempt to enroll a patron in that club

At the moment users can reserve items and choose any library as a pick up
location, but there is no mechanism to prevent users from reserving items that
are available on the shelf at any given location from reserving the item at the
same location, essentially creating a Fetch and Collect scenario.
This has an impact on staff workloads as they are having to process reservations
and check shelves for items that students can already come and collect from the
open library shelves.
The aim of this enhancement is to decrease the impact on staff workload there
should be a restriction in place that prevents users from requesting items for
collection at a library where the item is currently available.
Implementation:
We first tried to add a new circulation rule adding a 4th
“NotIfAvailableAtPickupLibrary” option to "On shelf holds allowed".
That would make the development more flexible.
But in that case we quickly faced non-trivial problematics:
Let's say you have 3 items I1, I2 and I3. The first one has onshelfholds
set to Yes and 2 others has it set to “NotIfAvailableAtPickupLibrary”.
What would be the expected behavior if a hold is placed at biblio level?
And if a hold is placed at item level for I1?
This second point could be answered by reworking the interface to move
the libraries dropdown list elsewhere (1 list per item) or by adding a
lot of JS code to handle the different situation. But it would be
much more complicated to implement.
So finally I moved back to the simple approach and added a new pref to
handle the behavior globally.
Test plan:
0/ Switch off OPACHoldsIfAvailableAtPickup
1/ Let's say you have 3 libraries L1, L2, L3, create 2 items owned by L1
and L2
2/ Place a biblio level hold. You should only be able to pick it up at
L3
2/ Place a item level hold. You should only be able to pick it up at
L3
3/ Create a third items owned by L3
4/ Now you should not be able to place a hold on this record anymore

The field opac_news.new is very confusing and should be renamed.
If you want to access it via Koha::NewsItem you will have trouble:
use Koha::News;
my $news_item = Koha::News->next;
say $news_item->new;
=> Attempt to bless into a reference at /home/vagrant/kohaclone/Koha/Object.pm line 78.
This patchset is going to rename this DB field to opac_news_content instead.

Persona never really took off, and although many browsers currently
support it, very few services actually implement it.
This has lead to it's founders, Mozilla, to end the project. In their
own words:
=============================================================================
Persona is no longer actively developed by Mozilla. Mozilla has
committed to operational and security support of the persona.org
services until November 30th, 2016.
On November 30th, 2016, Mozilla will shut down the persona.org services.
Persona.org and related domains will be taken offline.
If you run a website that relies on Persona, you need to implement an
alternative login solution for your users before this date.
For more information, see this guide to migrating your site away from
Persona:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Identity/Persona_Shutdown_Guidelines_for_Reliers
=============================================================================
Given the above, and that the Persona authentication methods as a whole
are no longer being actively maintained by anyone anywhere to ensure
ongoing security, we should deprecate the option from koha.
Test plan:
Apply this patch and make sure you do not find any references of Persona

This patch fixes a bug added by commit 81a04af278
Bug 14610 - Add and update scripts
If OpacRenewalAllowed is enabled, the following error message is
displayed:
Template process failed: undef error - The method is_expired is not
covered by tests! at /home/vagrant/kohaclone/C4/Templates.pm line 121.
The is_expired and BlockExpiredPatronOpacActions methods did not exist
for the Koha::Patron object. These 2 values were returned by
GetMemberDetails.
To fix this, we need bug 17579 which introduces the
Koha::Patron->is_expired method and also bug 17604 for the
Koha::Patron->effective_BlockExpiredPatronOpacActions.

1) Check out an item for a patron

3 include files do not pass the template validation tests:

- koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/includes/subscriptions-search.inc
- koha-tmpl/opac-tmpl/bootstrap/en/includes/opac-topissues.inc
This is because they process a block which has not been declared before.

This new enhancement will add the ability to change the default holdings
sort on OPAC displays to be by library, instead of item type.
This patch adds a new pref OPACHoldingsDefaultSortField with 3 different
possible values:

unexpected behaviors might happen if OPACHoldingsDefaultSortField is set to

Note that we could add a syspref to make this new behavior optional.

This patch adds newlines to opac-ics.tt that are preserved by the translating process.
To test:
- Apply patch
- Create a translation (perl translate xy-XY)
- With a text editor or poedit, translate misc/translator/po/xy-XY-opac-bootstrap.po
(it is enough to translate "%s %s %s %s is overdue %sYour copy of........")
- Install language xx-XY and select it for OPAC (perl translate install xy-XY)
- Make sure you have at least a couple of loans, including one overdue
- Go to /cgi-bin/koha/opac-user.pl and click on the link labeled "Download as
iCal/.ics file"
- Inspect the file in a text editor and/or view the result in a calendar
appplication. Make sure the data makes sense. Compare it to the english version.

At the OPAC, if a user manipulate the URL to show a list (s)he is not
allowed to view, the list's name will be displayed anyway.
Test plan:
- Create a private list with user A
- Copy the op=view URL and access it with user B logged in
=> Without this patch, you will see the rss icon, the list's name and
the "add list" button
=> Without this patch, only the "unauthorized" box will be displayed
Followed test plan, works as expected.

On bug 17210, the selector .addtoshelf should not have caught the
.addtoshelf nodes from the result list.
To fix this, we just need to make the selector more specific (and cannot
reuse it without more changes, the biblionumber variable is not the same
- vs SEARCH_RESULT.biblionumber).
Test plan:
Make sure the 2 links (from detail and search result) "Save to lists"
and "Save to your lists" work as expected.

This patch adds the infrastructure needed to allow audio alerts, as
configured in administration, to affect the sco module
This patch allows only for the use of sounds with a full URL to be used
and does not allow for the Koha standard sounds to be accessed via the
SCO
To test:
Ensure you have the preference AudioAlerts enabled
Ensure you can hear normal sounds from the staff module
Define an audio alert such as:
Selector: .sco_entry
Sound: https://archive.org/download/Doorbell_1/doorbell.ogg
Load the SCO module
You should hear the doorbell noise (everytime you reload even!)
Test that the default sounds are not activated for the SCO, you must
sepcifically define them
