The holds ratio report ignores ordered items. This could cause a library
to inadvertently order more copies of a title than they actually need.
An option should be added to count ordered items ( i.e. any negative
notforloan value ).
Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Create a record with two items, one regular, one ordered.
3) Place 3 holds on the item
4) Run the reserve ratios report, by default you should see this record
5) Check the new 'include ordered' checkbox, rerun the report
6) Note that record is no longer displayed

Bug partially corrected by Bug 11357.
The size column in biblioitems is a bit problematic when used in TT, because instead of the size value from the biblio column it will give you the size of the variable or current loop.
It's currently used in the templates like opac-topissues.tt :
[% IF results_loo.size %][% results_loo.size %][% END %]
This patch corrects by using item() TT method.
See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2311303/how-can-i-handle-hash-keys-containing-illegal-identifier-characters-in-template.
Test plan :
- Be sure there is a mapping between a MARC field and biblioitems.size
- Create a record A with biblioitems.size defined : like "10x12"
- Create a record B with no value in biblioitems.size
- Check each modified page :
=> Without this patch : you see a number (loop size) for both records
=> With this patch : you only see the correct value for A and nothing for B

It appears that some librarians will attempt to scan items as fast as
they can without checking to make sure the checkout was submitted and
the page reloaded properly. This can cause multiple barcodes to be
scanned into the barcode field if the person is fast enough.
This causes the checkout of both ( or more! ) items to fail.
Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Attempt to scan two or more items into the barcode field
You can emulate this with a keybaord by hitting a few keys, then
enter, then a few more keys, then enter again. The barcodes don't
need to be valid for this test.

of days specified in the ReservesMaxPickUpDelay system preference.

In "Tools" -> "Rotating Collections" -> "Add/Remove items":
When adding item barcodes to the collection, the input field
<input type="text" id="barcode" name="barcode">
should become active
automatically so it is easy to add multiple barcodes rapidly without touching the
mouse or keyboard.
Enter-press is dealt by the barcode reader so automatic form submittal should be handled

In "Rotating collections" -> "Transfer Collection":
When the collection is initially transferred, items are set to trasfer correctly.
When the collection is transferred while items are still being transferred, the transfer
destination library doesn't change from the original one.
The holding library changes for all items in the collection to the destination library on
retransfers as well.
This is tricky if a user accidentally places the wrong destination.

-"Please return Valkoinen ihmissyj / to <original transfer destination>"
-"Print slip or Cancel transfer"
When I checkin a Item to a arbitrary branch, I get the following messages:

"Please return Valkoinen ihmissyj / to <original trasfer destination>"

This patch addresses the case where OnSiteCheckoutsForce is enabled and
the user is checking out to a patron who is blocked from checking out.
Instead of showing the 'specify due date' form (which is disabled) this
patch hides it and highlights the on-site checkout controls.
This patch adds some CSS and consolidates some redundant CSS.
To test, load a patron for checkout under the following conditions:
1. OnSiteCheckoutsForce is off and patron is not blocked from checkout
2. OnSiteCheckoutsForce is off, patron is blocked from checkout (for

Checks in the circulation template for on-site checkouts preferences did
not take into account the possibility that someone might have

correctly for various combinations of settings.
To test, apply the patch and test the following combinations of
circumstances.
Testing using both a patron who is blocked (expired, restricted, etc)

2. OnSiteCheckouts is off, OnSiteCheckoutsForce is on
3. OnSiteCheckouts is off, OnSiteCheckoutsForce is off
4. OnSiteCheckouts is on, OnSiteCheckoutsForce is off

This patch implements the In-House Use feature for Koha.
It adds:
- 2 new sysprefs:
'In-House Use' to enable/disable this feature
'In-House Use Forced' to enable/disable the feature for *all* users.
- 2 new columns issues.inhouse_use and old_issues.inhouse_use
- Datatable on the circulation history pages (readingrec) at the OPAC
and the intranet.
A new checkbox in the Circulation tab. If checked, the issue become a
in-house use (in the statistics and issues tables).
When you check it, the due date changes to the today date.
The syspref "In-House Use Force" allows to force the in-house use to
permit the checkout even if the borrower is debarred or others problems.
In the issue table, a new string (in red) marks the issue as "in-house use".
The circulation history contains 3 tabs : "all", "checkout" and
"in-house use" (OPAC and intranet).
The cronjob script:
If AutomaticItemReturn if off, a library would like not to do a transit
operation manually. This script (to launch each night) do returns
for a specific branches.
Test plan:
1/ Execute the updatedatabase entry
2/ Enable the 'In-House Use' pref.
3/ Checkout a biblio for a patron and check the 'in-house use' checkbox.
4/ Check that the due date is the today date (with 23:59) and is not modifiable.
5/ Click on the check out button and check that the new check out
appears in the table bellow with the "(In-house use)" string.
6/ Go on the circulation history pages (readingrec and opac-readingrec)
and try the 3 tabs. In the last one, your last checkout should appear.
7/ Check in.
8/ Check readingrec pages.
9/ Choose a debarred patron and check that you cannot checkout a biblio

Now that a patron's checkouts are loaded asynchronously, we can further
improve Koha's performance by not loading the checkouts table when it is
not needed. For example, if a librarian is checking out 5 items to a

items 1 to 4, just for item 5. Another example would be browsing to the
patron details table in order to change a patron's password.

The sort order of the "today's checkouts" and "previous checkouts" row
groupings depends on the label, so in English "today's checkouts" comes
first. However, in other languages the reverse alphabetical order is
incorrect resulting in "previous checkouts" coming first.
This patch adds a dummy column with numeric data on which the sorting
can be done. This should make it translation-agnostic.
To test, apply the patch and install or update a translation which will
demostrate the problem (sv-SE for instance).
- Clear your browser cache and switch to the English templates.
- Check out some items to a patron who has checkouts from a previous
day.
- Confirm that the sorting of the "today's checkouts" and "previous
checkouts" row groups is correct.
- Switch to the new/updated translation and reload the circulation page
for that patron. Confirm that the sort remains correct.
- Confirm that the checkouts table looks correct and that other features
(sorting, checkboxes) still work correctly.

var AllowRenewalLimitOverride = [%

When a patron has many checked out items, circulation.pl can take a very
long time to load ( on the order of minutes in some cases ). This is
primarily due to the processing of the previous checkouts list. If we
convert to this table to a datatable that fetches its data via ajax, we
can make circulation.pl far more responsive. The same should be done
with relative's checkouts as well.
Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Observe that the checkouts and relatives' checkouts tables
are now loaded asynchronously
3) Observe and verify the renew and return actions are now
ajax based and function in a manner equivilent to how they
used to.

Each time the "renew all" or "renew or return" buttons are click, the
renewal process is triggered. If the patron only has one renewal left,

Currently, slips cannot be printed in circulation, members, or the
self check out when using Chrome.
This patch adds a timer of 1ms which allows Chrome's custom code to
prevent "window.close" occuring before the user has dealt with the
print window.
This patch also allows admins to use the 'IntranetSlipPrinterJS'
system preference to override the slip printing code by centralizing
all the slip printing code in slip-print.inc, and including this JS
anywhere it's needed in the staff client.
I haven't used this include in the OPAC SCO but perhaps it would make
sense to do so as well (even if it isn't referred to in the syspref's
name).

This enhancement introduces a possibility to place orders
from hold ratios list:
- new option "Add order to basket" -> "From titles w/ highest hold ratios";
(user gets redirected from acqusition to "hold ratios" list in circulation)
- "N to order" in "Items needed" column now becomes a link - when clicked,
user gets redirected back to acquisition, directly to order form for
a choosen title (suggested quantity "N to order" is being preserved)
- in the "Items needed" column, there is an additional indication if
there are any pending (not yet received) orders for a given title
This solution is not exactly ideal.. most important drawback: to use
it librarian needs both acquisition & circulation priviledges; if not
having both - new options will not show / wouldn't be active. But it
requires relatively small amount of changes in the code.
To test:
- apply patch,
- test new functions (try to place some orders using an newly added
option, examine resulting order records etc.)
- check modified hold ratios list for possible problems (for user
with only circulation priviledges, additional information regarding
pending orders should be still visible, but not the link
to order form)
- ensure the two following existing options for adding orders to basket
("From an existing record", "From a new (empty) record") a still working
properly.

Sometimes libraries need to backdate returns further back in time than
Koha's dropbox mode will allow. The returns backdating will check in an
item as if it had been returned on the specified date, and will reduce
any fine accordingly.
This feature is activated by a new system preference, SpecifyReturnDate.
Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Check out an item, and backdate the due date by 1 month or so
* This issue needs to generate a fine
3) Run fines.pl to generate the fine
4) Browse to returns.pl
5) Specify a return date of the day after the specified due date
6) Check the borrowers issue history, you should see the backdated
return date, rather than today's date
7) Check the fine, it should be reduced to a fine for a single day
overdue, rather than the previous larger fine.

This patch removes instances of dt_add_type_uk_date() from there
circulation templates and updates the sorting configuration according to
current guidelines.
To test, enable the UseTablesortForCirc system preference and open a
patron for circulation who has multiple items checked out. Confirm that
sorting by due date, title, and checkout date work correctly.
Locate a patron who is guarantor to another or is guaranteed by another.
One or both patrons should have checkouts. The "relatives checkouts" tab
on the checkout page should sort correctly on due date, title, and
checkout date.
On the transfers to receive report, confirm that sorting by date of
transfer and title work correctly for all tables.
On the holds awaiting pickup report the "available since" and title
columns should sort correctly for tables in both tabs (waiting and
over).

The holds to pull report could be improved by improving sorting on the
title and date columns. This patch adds "anti-the" sorting to the title
column and "title-string" sorting to the date column.
Date formatting of another variable has been moved to the template for
formatting using KohaDates.
The patch includes other corrections for HTML validity.
To test, apply the patch and view the holds to pull report.
- Sorting by date should work correctly regardless of dateformat system
preference setting.
- Sorting of the title columns should correctly ignore articles.
- Formatting of the "Reported on" date should be correct.

those changes to use class-based sorting.

This patch explicitly sets the sType in the Holds to Pull list table
for the libraries, itypes, and locations columns. It appears that the
type is automatically being set to "html" when it should be set to
"string".
It needs to have a sType of "string", since DataTables will strip out
the <br> tags when using "html", and we need them for the regexp
we use to create a more precise filter search.
_TEST PLAN_
Before applying:
1) Place a "next available" hold on a record with an item available
from one library/branch (e.g. "Branch A")
2) Place a "next available" hold on a record with an item available
from two different libraries/branches
3) Place a "next available" hold on a record with an item available
from three different libraries/branches - one of which is the same
as the library/branch from Step 1.
4) Go to the Holds to Pull List
5) Filter the branches by "Branch A".
6) You should only see the hold from Step 1 - not Step 3.
7) Try filtering on a branch for a hold that has multiple
libraries/branches. (They shouldn't appear when filtering, except
when using the "None" filter).
Apply the patch.
After applying:
1) Repeat Steps 4-7 from above. When filtering on "Branch A", you
should be able to see all holds that are available at "Branch A",
even if they are available at other branches (i.e. the holds has
multiple libraries listed).

Currently translating Javascript strings with variables in them is hard,
because the strings are created from separate parts. For example:
_("Are you sure you want to delete the") + " " + count + " " +
_("attached items?")
This is translated in two different parts, and the translator cannot
affect the place where the count-variable is.
Now, if the javascript strings allowed placeholders, similar to how the
template strings do, the above could be written as:
_("Are you sure you want to delete the %s attached
items?").format(count)
This would make translation much easier.
Attached patch adds a Javascript string formatter, and changes all the
concatenated translatable JS strings used in intranet to use that.
To test:
1) cd misc/translator
2) perl translate update xx-YY
3) grep ^msgid po/xx-YY-i-staff-t-prog-v-3006000.po | sort | uniq >
xx-YY-pre
4) apply patch
5) perl translate update xx-YY
6) grep ^msgid po/xx-YY-i-staff-t-prog-v-3006000.po | sort | uniq >
xx-YY-post
7) compare the files: diff -Nurd xx-YY-pre xx-yy-post | less
should show the javascript strings that changed.
8) Test the UIs where the formatted js strings are used.

This patch adds a new system preference, AllowMultipleIssuesOnABiblio.
If this system preference is OFF, an alert is raised if a patron
tries to check out an item even when they already have a different
item checked out from that bib.
The librarian can force the checkout anyway.
It doesn't alert the librarian if the biblio is a subscription
Test plan:
1. Create a biblio with at least 2 items
2. Checkout the first item for a borrower
3. Set syspref AllowMultipleIssuesOnABiblio to OFF.
4. Try to checkout the second item with the same borrower. A message
should appear telling you that this borrower already borrowed an item
from this biblio.
If you have the permission 'force_checkout' You should also see two
buttons to confirm (or not) the checkout
5. Click on 'No'. The checkout is not done
6. Repeat step 4 and click 'Yes', the checkout is done.
7. Return the second item.

Bug 10649 introduced a new include file for adding DataTables-related
JavaScript assets. This patch adds use of this include file to all
circ-related pages which use DataTables.
Apply the patch and test the following pages to confirm that table
sorting works correctly:
- Circulation
- The UseTablesortForCirc system preference must be enabled.
- Check out to a patron with existing checkouts. Choose a patron who
is a guarantor to another patron with checkouts in order to test the
relatives' checkouts table.
- The checkouts and relatives' checkouts tables have been modified to
exclude articles when sorting of titles.
- Hold ratios - The title column has been configured to exclude articles
from sorting
- Transfer to receive
- Holds queue
- The title column has been configured to exclude articles when
sorting
- The date column has been modified to use the title-string filter for
sorting. An unformatted date is now passed from C4::HoldsQueue.pm to
the template, where the KohaDates filter is used for formatting.
Sorting is based on the unformatted date.
- Holds awaiting pickup
- The "available since" column has been configured for sorting on an
unformatted date. waitingreserves.pl now passes the unformatted
date to the template, and formatting is done using the KohaDates
filter.
- The title column has been configured to exclude articles when
sorting.

This patch upgrades the version of jQueryUI included in the Koha staff
client from v1.8.23 to v.1.10.4. The upgrade introduces a few minor API
changes which require the updates in this patch:
- In CSS, the term "active" is used instead of "selected"
- Autocomplete functions use slightly changed parameters
Changes to the default jQueryUI CSS allows us to remove some instances
of "!important" from jQueryUI-related CSS in the staff client's main CSS
file.
To test:
Testing changes to autocomplete:
- Enable the CircAutocompl system preference. Try searching in the
header's "Check out" tab. Autocomplete should look correct and
function correctly.
- In Circulation -> Overdues: The patron attribute authorized value
filter (must have patron attributes enabled, and a patron attribute
defined which uses authorized values.
- Course reserves -> Course -> Edit: Searching for an instructor
- In the unimarc_field_210c_bis.pl plugin:
1. Link the publisher name field in your MARC structure to
the unimarc_field_210c_bis.pl plugin.
2. Open a MARC record for editing and click the "tag editor" link to
launch the plugin.
3. Type the first few letters of a publisher which exists in your
database. You should get an autocomplete menu of publishers
which match your search.
4. Select one and click the "choose" button to fill the field in the
MARC editor.
- Tools -> Patron lists: Add a list or choose an existing list and add
patrons. Perform a search for a patron.
- Placing a hold: After choose a title and clicking "Place hold,"
search for a patron.
- Tags management: The sidebar filter for "reviewer" should let you
search by patron name.
Other jQueryUI widget changes:
- Check tabs appearance in header search, biblio detail, cataloging, and
circulation patron fines pages.
To confirm other jQueryUI widgets still function correctly:
- Check accordion (collapsing sections) in Patrons -> Patrons requesting
modifications and the MARC subfield structure edit screen.
- Check datepickers, especially in Circulation with the added timepicker.
Test a linked datepicker, for example in Reports -> Stats wizards ->
Circulation where the value in one date field affects what dates are
available in the matching field.
- Check the calendar interface in Tools -> Calendar
To confirm that the new jQueryUI default CSS is more flexible (fixing
Bug 11042), add the following CSS to your IntranetUserCSS system
preference and confirm that the header search active tab border color
changes (hash mark escaped so that it will appear in commit msg):
\#header_search ul.ui-tabs-nav li.ui-tabs-active {
background-color: #FFFFF1;
border: 1px solid #800000;
border-top: 0 !important;
top: -2px;

This patch makes the datepickers for the hold resumption date
(AKA the hold suspend until date) field only permit dates in
the future to be selected in the staff interface checkout page
and hold list pages. This makes these pages consistent with
the OPAC and the patron details page in the staff interface.
To test:
[1] Ensure that AutoResumeSuspendedHolds and SuspendHoldsIntranet
are enabled.
[2] Go to the checkout page for a patron that has at least one hold
request.
[3] Verify that the datepicker for the hold suspend until
date field only permits choosing a date in the future.

date fields only permit choosing a date in the future.

In most cases, the value of items.copynumber is displayed using the
words "Copy number". But in some cases, it is just "Copy".
It would be better to always use "Copy number" because in translation
the word "Copy" means the action of coping.

The DataTables plugin doesn't by default take multiple columns into
account when sorting. The hold ratios report presents a situation where
it makes sense to sort by default based on two columns: hold count and
title, since there are likely to be many titles with the same hold
count.
This patch adds sorting by default on holds (descending) and title
(ascending). It also modifies the configuration of the title sort to
exclude articles when sorting.
To test, view the hold ratios report. If necessary use the filter form
to reduce the minimum hold ratio and generate more results. Confirm that
the correct columns can be sorted.
Note that by default one can manually trigger sorting on two columns by
shift-clicking the second column header.

We handle internationalization of the jQuery datepicker by adding
language configuration strings to calendar.inc which can be processed by
the translation script. This patch adds a similar configuration file for
the timepicker.
This patch also upgrades the timepicker plugin to the latest version,
minified, and places it outside the prog template directory for global
use. The path in templates has been updated accordingly.
CSS has been added to more completely hide the controls for seconds,
milliseconds, and microseconds.
To test, apply the patch and clear your cache so that the browser
loads the new version of the jQuery plugin. Confirm that date and time
selection still function correctly on the circulation page, the patron
detail page, and the offline circulation page (circ/offline.pl).
Test at least one datepicker instance which does not use the
timepicker.
Run translate update on a po file and confirm that the timepicker
strings are now present.

This patch adds the renewal count to the 'Check out' and "Details' tabs
of the patron record.
This information already exists in the OPAC view of the patron record.
Since librarians might be serving patrons in person who want to know
this information without looking it up online, it makes sense to show
it in the staff client.
There may also be times where librarians want to see how many renewals
a patron has left, how many they've used already, etc. when making other
decisions.
_TEST PLAN_
Before applying:
1) Go to "Check out" with a patron that has some check outs before today
2) Add some check outs for today
*Ensure that all issues are for items that can be renewed*
3) Note that the Renew column just says '0' followed by a check box
4) Check the 'Detail' tab. It should say the same.
Apply the patch.
5) View the "Details" and "Check out" tabs again
6) Note that the renewal count now appears in the form resembling:
5 of 5 renewals remaining

This patch uses regex checking via the DataTables fnFilter API method
to make the branch filter more precise on the "Holds to Pull" page.
The ability to use regex is built into DataTables so this just adds
the actual expression.
_TEST PLAN_
Before applying:
1) Add library (branches) with codes of NM, NMH, and NB
2) Add items (that can be placed on hold) at all these branches
3) Place a hold on an item that is only available at NM
4) Place a hold on an item that is only available at NMH
5) Place a hold on an item that is only available at NM and NB
6) Go to "Holds to Pull" in the Circulation module
7) Filter by these three different values
8) Note that filtering by "NM" will incorrectly bring up all three
holds, while "NMH" and "NB" will only pull up one (like they should).
Apply the patch.
9) Shift+refresh the page so that your Javascript refreshes
10) Repeat step 7 (filtering by the different branch values)
11) Note that filtering by "NM" will now only bring up the hold for "NM"
and the hold for "NM" and "NB", while the others still only bring up
one hold.

This patch tweaks the checkout form so that if a circ operator
doesn't have the circulate/force_checkout permission, they are
presented with a button to continue on if they ran into a restriction
on the loan. Otherwise, there was no clear way to carry on, as the
item barcode field was disabled.

This patch adds 2 circulation permissions: force_checkout and
lift_restriction.
During upgrade, these two permission are added to existing staff
users that already have the base circulate permission.
force_checkout allows a librarian to force a checkout if a limitation
occurred.
lift_restriction allows a librarian to lift a restriction for a patron.
Test plan:
1/ Find a debarred patron and go on the checkout page. The "Lift
restriction" button should be present only if the logged librarian has
the lift_restriction permission.
2/ If the force_checkout permission is set, a librarian should be
allowed to check out in several cases:
- age restriction
- the item is issued to another patron
- the item is not for loan
- the patron has overdue items
- the item is lost
- the item is a high demand item
- the item is reserved
- another case ?

having an English description.
Also adds back the question "Check out anyway?" for high demand items (HIGHHOLDS).
Test xt/permissions.t passes now.
Bug 10863: Rename lift_restriction with manage_restrictions
The pref manage_restrictions now takes into account "Lost card" and
"Gone no address" restrictions.

Trying to write my own test plan here:
1) AllowNotForLoanOverride = Allow

Item is normally not for loan (Staff Collection). Check out anyway?
2) Toggle AllowNotForLoanOverride = Not Allow
Try to check out your not for loan item again.
Message has changed, but not for loan status should still show:
Item not for loan (Staff Collection).
3) Check out item that is marked damaged.
Check damaged status shows correctly in list of checkouts.
4) Mark item as lost and check it out.
Check lost status shows up correctly in message:
This item has been lost with a status of "Lange überfällig (Verloren)".
5) Create your own custom SUGGEST_STATUS and check that it shows
up correctly on the suggestion page.
6) Test item status show up correctly on OPAC detail page (lost, not
for loan, damaged, etc). Requires follow-up patch to be applied.
7) Mark a suggestion with your custom status and make sure it shows
up in the patron account in OPAC correctly.

This patch adds a more extensible and flexible debarments system to Koha. The fields
borrowers.debarred and borrowers.debarredcomment are retained for compatibility and
speed.
This system supports having debarments for multiple reasons. There are currently
three types of debarments:
OVERDUES - Generated by overdue_notices.pl if the notice should debar a patron
SUSPENSION - A punative debarment generated on checkin via an issuing rule
MANUAL - A debarment created manually by a librarian
OVERDUE debarments are cleared automatically when all overdue items have been returned,
if the new system preference AutoRemoveOverduesRestrictions is enabled. It is disabled
by default to retain current default functionality.
Whenever a borrowers debarments are modified, the system updates the borrowers debarment
fields with the highest expiration from all the borrowers debarments, and concatenates
the comments from the debarments together.
Test plan:
1) Apply patch
2) Run updatedatabase.pl
3) Verify the borrower_debarments table has been created and
populated with the pre-existing debarments
4) Run t/db_dependent/Borrower_Debarments.t
5) Manually debar a patron, with an expiration date
6) Verify the patron cannot be issued to
7) Add another manual debarment with a different expiration date
8) Verify the 'restricted' message lists the date farthest into the future
9) Add another manual debarment with no expiration date
10) Verify the borrower is now debarred indefinitely
11) Delete the indefinite debarment
12) Verify the debarment message lists an expiration date dagain
13) Enable the new system preference AutoRemoveOverduesRestrictions
14) Set an overdue notice to debar after 1 day of being overdue
15) Check out an item to a patron and backdate the due date to yesterday
16) Run overdue_notices.pl
17) Verify the OVERDUES debarment was created
18) Return the item
19) Verify the OVERDUES debarment was removed
20) Disable AutoRemoveOverduesRestrictions
21) Repeat steps 15 though 18, verify the OVERDUES debarment was *not* removed
22) Add issuing rules so that an overdue item causes a temporary debarment

- There is a "border-right" css rule on the h5.patron-title. It is

- tables are displayed even if there is no data
- The "Clear screen" link (X) points to an old script:

This patch adds an HTML5-based offline mode to Koha's existing
circulation module, allowing librarians to check out items using a
basically familiar interface. The feature will be implemented using
the Application Cache and IndexedDB features of the HTML5 specification,
both of which are fully supported on Firefox 10+ and Chrome 23+, with
limited support going back to Firefox 4 and Chrome 11. The basic
workflow enabled by this patch is as follows:
Part 1: While connected to the Internet
1. Enable offline functionality by turning on the
"AllowOfflineCirculation" system preference.
2. Sync the offline circulation database on the computer that will be
used for offline circulation by following the "Offline circulation
interface" link on the Circulation home page, choosing "Synchronize (must be online)",
and clicking the "Download records" button. This process may take a while.
3. Bookmark /cgi-bin/koha/circ/offline.pl (the page you are currently
on) for easy access when offline.
Part 2: While disconnected from the Internet
4. Navigate to /cgi-bin/koha/circ/offline.pl using the bookmark you
created while online.
5. Start checking books in by scanning the barcode of an item that has
been returned into the box in the "Check in" tab.
6. Scan the barcodes of any additional items that have been returned.
7. Start checking out books to a patron by scanning the patron's barcode
in the box in the "Check out" tab.
8. Set a due date (the "Remember for session" box will be checked by
default, since circulation rules are not computed during offline
transactions and therefore a due date must be specified by the
librarian).
9. Scan an item barcode (if you did not set a due date, it will prompt
you) to check the item out to the patron.
10. If a patron has a fine you can see the total amount (current to when
the offline module was synced), and record a payment. Unlike when in
online mode, there will be no breakdown of what item(s) fines are
for, and you will only be able to record the payment amount and not
associate it with a particular item.
Part 3: While connected to the Internet
11. Click the "Synchronize" link and choose "Upload transactions" to
upload the transactions recorded during the offline circulation
session.
12. Navigate to /cgi-bin/koha/offline_circ/list.pl (there will be a
link from the Offline circulation page) and review the
transactions, as described in the documentation for the Firefox
Offline circulation plugin:
http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Offline_circulation_firefox_plugin

Description:
A new pref ConfirmFutureHolds is added. When confirming a hold at checkin time,
the number of days in this pref is taken into account when looking for reserves.
Note that this pref does not interfere with renewing, issuing or transferring
a book. For report Holds to pull, the default end date is calculated with this
new preference.
The use of ConfirmFutureHolds is useful only when future holds are allowed.
Test plan:
1) Enable future holds. Add a number of days into ConfirmFutureHolds.
2) Place a future hold within this number of days.
3) Run holds to pull report. Check default startdate and enddate.
4) Check this book in. Can you confirm the hold? Do not confirm.
5) Issue the book to another patron. You should not see a warning.
6) Renew the book for this patron via opac or staff. No warning either.
7) Check in again. Warning pops up again.
8) Transfer book. Switch branch. Check in. Hold found pops up. Do not confirm.
9) Back to first branch. Check in (with popup). Remove the hold. Add new future
hold past the number of days. Check in (no warn).

To test:
- Choose a patron account
- Add a fine to it
- Switch to the checkout tab of the patron account
- Check for the "Make payment" link. Make is not a link, but payment is.
- Apply patch
- Check again, now both words are linked.
In translation this string is divided into:
. %s Make
payment
Because of this it's difficult to translate it grammatically.
The patch moves 'Make' into the link text, so that both words
will show up together in translation.

the process of moving JavaScript into it from circulation.tt. I have
started the process by focusing on sections which are least dependent on
template variables.
To test, load a patron for checkout who has something checked out.

This patch turns the form input for the checkin message to
a text area and uses the html_line_break Template Toolkit filter
to display it.
To test:
[1] Create or edit an item type. Note that the checkin message
field is a text area.
[2] Enter a checkin message with at least one line break.
[3] In the item types administration page, note that the checkin
message is displayed with the line break.
[4] Return an item of the item type modified in step 1. Verify
that the displayed checkin message includes the line break.

This patch adds a new column to item types. Text in this column is
displayed as a warning when an item of the given type is checked in.
The type of message can also be chosen, affecting how the message is
displayed.
Use case: Items that are on inter-library loan can have a separate
item type, and when items of this type are checked in a message
saying something like "ILL! Remember to return it to the owning
library!" can be displayed.
To test:
- Apply the patch
- Go to Home > Administration > Item types administration
- Check that there is a new column, called "Check in message"
- Edit an item type and add a check in message
- Check that the check in message you added is displayed in the table
- Check in an item with an item type that has a check in message
- Check that the message is displayed
- Repeat the steps above, but select "Alert" instead of the default
"Message" as the "Check in message type". Check that the message
is displayed in a yellow alert box, not a blue message box.
- Check in an item with an item type that does *not* have a check
in message, and make sure no false messages are displayed
- Create a new item type from scratch and check that it works
the way it is supposed to
- Run the tests in t/ItemType.t, which are updated by this patch
This patch also removes backticks around column names in the
itemtypes table in installer/data/mysql/kohastructure.sql
UPDATE 2013-07-22
- Rebased on current master (no changes)
- Added "AFTER summary" to the SQL statement in updatedatabase.pl
- Added another placeholder on line 170 of admin/itemtypes.pl

UPDATE 2013-07-29

titles--a relic of the previous table sorting plugin. I have removed

correctly on all columns, including correct date sorting regardless of

With IndependentBranches turned on, if you try to check out an item
which belongs to another library you will get an error message which is

necessary variable to the template and outputting the library name using
the KohaBranchName TT plugin.
To test, turn on IndependentBranches and try to check out an item
belonging to another library (note that you must test with a staff user
who is not a superlibrarian). The error message you see should include
the name of the library to which the item belongs:

mappings to 'subtitle'.
[2] Find a biblio that has both title and subtitle. Check
it out to one patron and place it on hold for another.

Currently, when SingleBranchMode is enabled, nobody can change the

reasonable to allow superlibrarians to switch the logged in library even
if SingleBranchMode is enabled.
Test Plan:

3) Enable SingleBranchMode
4) Log in as a superlibrarian

I guess this doesn't do any harm even though the practical motivations
behind it, as described in the bug, seem otherwise solvable. If
SingleBranchMode is supposed to prevent librarians from switching their
logged in library why can they choose their library when they first log
in? Was SingleBranchMode supposed to only affect the OPAC originally? Or
should the login form be modified? This seems to be a band-aid on a
poorly-implemented feature.

The fix for Bug 9397 moved the "cannot check in" heading from within the
one conditional where it should have been displayed to the top of all
check-in errors/messages. "Cannot check in" is still only valid if the
item is withdrawn and BlockReturnOfWithdrawnItems is ON.

patch puts "cannot check in" back into the correct conditional and adds
a generic heading to check in messages for accessibility purposes.
To test, check in items which will trigger a variety of errors
including:
- item must be returned to home library
- item is lost

The circulation page, when the UseTablesortForCirc preference is
enabled, uses the old tablesorter plugin. It should use DataTables
instead.
This patch removes references to the tablesorter plugin and makes these
changes to enable use of DataTables:
- Pass two new unformatted date variables to the template from
circulation.pl so that sorting can be performed on this data.
- Add DataTables configurations for the table of checkouts and the
table of relatives' checkouts.
- Add a new plugin to the main DataTables configuration script to allow
sorting on data embedded in a <span>'s 'title' attribute.
- Add <span>s to each table with a title attribute containing the
unformatted date data which DataTables needs to perform correct
sorting. This eliminates the need for a special sorting algorithm to
accomodate various date and datetime formatting options.
- Set a template variable for checking whether circ exports are enabled.
This reduces repetition. DataTables configuration changes based on how
many columns are present.
To test, load the circulation page for patrons who match various
conditions:
- Having only checkouts from today
- Having checkouts from today and previous days
- Having checkouts only from previous days
- Having relatives who have checkouts (from today, from previous days,
from both)
Test these situations with UseTablesortForCirc enabled and disabled.
Test these situations with circ exports enabled or disabled (with
ExportRemoveFields filled or empty, for instance).
Sorting should work correctly on all columns with the dateformat
preference set to any option.
All other circulation functions should work normally.
Revision adds missing include for table footer when there are previous
checkouts and removes from empty table header cells which were
messing up auto-detection of numeric data. The global CSS for table
borders has been tightened up to improve handling of alternating row
colors in DataTables-sorted tables.

To test
1. Log in to the staff client. Note your logged in library.
2. Navigate to Circulation -> Holds queue.
3. Select a holds queue report for a library other than your own.
4. From the holds queue report page, click the "Check out" tab and
enter the card number of a patron who has holds.
5. On the circulation page for that patron, click the "Holds" tab.
6. Click one of the titles in the list of holds.
Your logged in branch will now match the library you chose for the
holds queue report.
Alternate sequence:
4. From the holds queue report page, click the "Check out" tab and
do a non-exact search (search which will return more than one result)
for a patron who has holds.
5. Choose the correct patron from the list of results.

This patch introduces a was_renewed CGI and template parameter

- Before applying the patch, renew a patron from the patron

The primary advantage to the Firefox offline cirulation plugin when compared
to the offline circulation desktop application, is the ability to add offline
circulation actions to a queue so that multiple machines running offline
circ can have their circ actions combined and ordered chronologically before
being executed. This commit adds the ability to put actions from uploaded
KOC files into this queue. In this way, both the FF plugina and the desktop

When using fast cataloguing to create a biblio and item on the fly, workflow looses datas when a duplicate is detected.
This comes from the use of a mix of circborrowernumber and borrowernumber in forms.
This patch corrects by using always circborrowernumber in fast cataloguing workflow.
Also adds html and uri escape for barecode where necessery.
Test plan :
With duplicate :
- Go to a borrower circulation page
- Enter a non existing barcode
- Enter a due date
- Click on "Check Out"
=> a message says the barcode was not found
- Click on "Fast cataloguing"
=> The biblio edition page appears with fast cataloguing framework
- Fill mandatory fields by using an existing ISBN
- Click on "Save"
=> a yes/no message says "Duplicate record suspected"
(Choosing yes will brake fast caloguing workflow, in this case librarian should create an item and checkout again)
- Click on "No"
=> The item edition page appears with barcode already filled
- Fill mandatory datas
- Click on "Add item"
=> Borrower circulation page appears again, check that item has been checked out with the specified due date
You may test without duplicate

The staff client has two almost identical include files which
can be consolidated: circ-toolbar.inc and members-toolbar.inc.
This patch marges the slight differences between them and
eliminates circ-toolbar.inc, that being the one which was used

In order to accommodate the different "destination" variable
for operations which redirect back either to circ or patrons,
circulation.pl defines "destination" in the template.

To test, perform various operations from the toolbar on at least

If a librarian checks out a waiting hold to a different patron
it gives the item conflicting statuses. The item will show as both
checked out to the different patron, and waiting for the original
patron.
This patch fixes this by not allowing this situation to occurr. If
a librarian attempts to issue an item that is waiting for a different
patron, the system will force the librarian to choose to
a) not issue the item
b) issue the item, and cancel the waiting hold
c) issue the item, and revert the waiting hold
In this scenario, reverting the waiting hold means to push it back
on the reserves queue as a hold with a priority of 1, which will push
the priorities of any existing holds back by 1 as well. It will become
an item level hold for the given item, as we cannot know if the hold
was item-level or bib-level given the data we have about the hold.

calendar.inc has been modified to include jQueryUI localization

If you would like two fields in one from to limit each other (one
is date from, one is date to), add these classes to each:
"datepickerfrom" and "datepickerto." This will prevent an invalid
entry, e.g. a date in the latter which falls before the former.

Removes all date formatting done in circ/circulation, and sets any/all date
outputs to iso format. The formatting of dates is now handled in the template
using the KohaDates plugin.
This allows use to remove a dependency on C4/Dates.pm from the script.
This patch also removes the usage of C4/Overdues/CheckBorrowerDebarred. Since
borrowers.debarred is returned by GetMemberDetails, it doesn't make sense to
include another module to run another MySQL query just to fetch the date again.
To Test:
1. View the checkout page for a patron with materials checked out today and in days past, as
well as items on reserve.
2. View a patron who is nearing their expiry date
3. Renew a patron
4. Renew a material from the checkout page using the renewal date selector

When a hold is placed on an item where the pickup location is
different than the holding library, Koha initiates a branch
transfer for that item to fill that hold when items is run through
the returns system.
If the item is then run through returns a second time, the system is
supposed to close that transfer as a 'wrongtransfer', and open a new
transfer with the same from and to branches as the original.
The problem is that the original transfer is closed, but the new
transfer is not created. This is because at some point, someone
replaced the template variable WrongTransfer, which had previously
contained the branchcode for the library to transfer to, with the
full name of the library instead ( I assume to make a look nicer ).
Solved by removing the line that was changing the variable contents
from the branchcode to the branch name, and adding a new TT filter,
KohaBranchName that functions in the same way as KohaDates, except
it takes a branchcode and returns the branch name for the given
branchcode.
The consequence of this, is the the name of the library is passed to updateWrongTransfer instead of the branchcode, causing the failure.

Current jQuery-driven tabs are done using a very old

- Remove full URL from tab links (use #anchor only).

The patch also moves some markup in instances where it should
have been removed in favor of a different include.
To test, find the various autocomplete instances and confirm
that they are working:
- Circulation search header autocomplete
- Overdues patron attribute authorized value filter (must
have patron attributes enabled, and a patron attribute
defined which uses authorized values.
- Authorities search plugin. Edit a MARC record and use
an authorities plugin link to do a search for authority
records.
Incomplete: There is a YUI autocomplete instance in a UNIMARC
plugin (unimarc_field_210c_bis.tt) which I couldn't figure out
how to test, even on a sandbox set up with UNIMARC. I could use
help with a follow-up.

For request.pl, there are two ways to suspend a reserve, either
by using the 'suspend' button for an individual reserve, or by
using the 'Update hold(s)' button with suspend until dates set.
If the 'suspend' button is used, any date in the 'suspend until'
field is ignored. This commit fixes this issue.

syntax was written:
$(foo).attr("checked","");

$(foo).removeAttr("checked");

AutoResumeSuspendedHolds enables the ability to set a date for
a suspended hold to automatically be resumed.
When a hold is suspended, it will continue to increase in priority
as the holds above it are fulfilled. If the first holds in line
to be filled are suspended, the first non-suspened hold in line
will be used when an item can fulfill a hold that has been placed.

Once all circ desks have uploaded the file, the librarian can apply all of them, sorted by date.
This avoid the problem of someone issuing an item on desk A, returning it on desk B.

resulting in the items reamining issued.

* fixed documentation in C4/Auth_with_ldap.pm
* updated ILSDI/Utility.pm to work with debarred being a date
* updated Members.pm/patronflags to work with debarred being a date (copy/paste of BibLibre code that had not been backported)
* fixed opac-reserve to check correctly for debarred status
I also have removed a duplicate line on circulation.pl when the patron was restricted = the information was displayed twice
Some code coming from BibLibre has been lost in the process of inclusion in
3.4. The result is that fine in days does not work at all (you can setup rules,
but it does nothing)
Step to reproduce:
- Koha > Admin > circ rules > set 1 day fine every day of overdue for default
rule
- Issue a book return date last week
- check-in the book => no debarment is set
The following patch will fix all of those problems by :
* updating borrowers.debarred to a date field (instead of tinyint). It contains
the limit of the debarment
* changing API of DebarMember and UpdateBorrowerDebarred to pass a date
* display debarrdate where applicable. Note that a debarrdate of 31/12/9999 is
considered as unlimited and not displayed
* added a debarrcomment, usefull to explain why a patron is debarred (this is
independant from debarrdate changes and can be used when placing an unlimited
debarment too)
[2011-05-12] F. Demians. It works as described. And I can confirm this
functionality is impatiently awaited by French libraries since one year. Thanks

Adds a new system preference, RecordLocalUseOnReturn, which when active will change the statistical
entry type from "return" to "localuse" in AddReturn() if the material was not on loan when returned.
The intended use-case here is for libraries with 'open' book drops, in which patrons can put locally
used (but unissued) materials.
Adds a small message to the user interface to confirm that Local Use was recorded.
This change opens up the possibility to record more types of statistics on return; one would just need

Bug 6801: member details page taking long time to load when many checkouts present
This patch removes the call to GetMemberDetails in build_issue_data; this heavy-weight
subroutine was being run for every single item a patron (or their relatives) have checked out.
Instead, the borrowers first name, surname and cardnumber are added to the GetPendingIssues query.
I believe this is reasonable since GetPendingIssues can now return issues for multiple borrowers.
Also corrects the $borrowernumber used for GetIssuesCharges and CanItemBeRenewed; was using the borrower whose
page we were on, NOT the borrower of that specific item (which would be different in the Relatives Checkouts tab).
Template calls to [% scope.borrowername %] are now broken up into [% scope.firstname %] [% scope.surname %].

This behavior is much better than the old behavior, however.
Hiding the "check in" checkbox for items which are on hold. This
mitigates the problem of checkins not triggering holds prompts
by forcing the librarian to check in these items individually.

Adds a button on patron-related pages, "Search to hold"
Clicking search to hold sets a cookie with the patron's
borrowernumber and sends the user to the search page.
On subsequent search results pages the user will have
the option to place holds specifically for the remembered
patron. This works on the search results page (single
and multiple hold) and on the detail page.
The saved cookie will time out after 10 minutes or
be erased when a new patron is loaded by circulation.pl
New jQuery plugin added: jquery.cookie.min.js
Revision fixes some markup and corrects an error that would lead
to the hold being initiated for the remembered patron when this
was not intended.

This patch improves the phrasing of several messages by
breaking the message variable into distinct parts for more
natural-sounding warnings when:
- Checking out an item on hold for another patron
- Checking out an item which is waiting for another patron
- Checking out an item which is checked out to another patron
- Checking out an item which is checked out to this patron
- Checking out to a patron who has too many checked out
I would appreciate special attention to my changes to the

adds:
- the subtitles into the title link (originally Chris Cormack)
- barcodes for every listed hold
- denoted which items were only item and which could be filled by any item on that bib.
- added id's to every column for ease of jquery suppression of data (example: publication data or patron column could be suppressed)

In India a ILS product called Libsuite8 prints barcodes like b0007432. The barcode is not stored anywhere in libsuite8's database. Neither is barcode available in any of the reports generated by the software.
The barcode 'b0007432' when scanned into the libsuite8 software is de-constructed like 'b' which is the itemtype i.e. Book in this instance, and '7432' which is the 'Accession Number'. The software then takes the logged in staff's branchcode and does a join on three tables 'Location', 'Media_Type', and 'Books' to retrieve the particular record from the database.
There is no possibility of recreating the barcodes for insertion in Koha while doing a retrospective conversion, because of arbitrary length of the barcode string AND arbitrary number of zeros in the numeric part of the printed barcode AND the fact that there are no reports available from the software which contain barcodes AND the fact that the barcode is not stored in the database.
But most importantly due to the simple fact that printed barcodes are duplicated among branches.
Therefore this patch emulates the functionality of Libsuite8 software of converting the scanned barcode into one stored in Koha using the itemBarcodeInputFilter system preference.
To use this new itemBarcodeInputFilter systempreference choice called 'libsuite8', the barcodes stored in Koha must match the pattern of <branchcode>-<itemtype_code>-<accession_number>. This is easy to achieve while doing retrospective conversion from Libsuite8 to Koha.
As expected the itemBarcodeInputFilter will return unmodified barcode if presented with a barcode of pattern <branchcode>-<itemtype_code>-<accession_number>
This revision corrects the way updatedatabase.pl is changed in order to correctly update version and insert the libsuite8 option in the database. Also kohaversion.pl is changed in the recommended format of 3.0X.0X.XXX to reflect database has changed.
This revision also changes the erronorous itemBarcodeInputFilter description in koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/admin/preferences/circulation.pref from 'scanned patron barcodes' to 'scanned item barcodes' there by eliminating need for a separate patch for bug 5417.

This system preference allows the librarian to toggle on or off whether the JQuery tablesort is used on the
circ/circulation.pl page. For patrons with many checkouts, this sort may cause very slow page loading (and
therefore slow circulation transaction time), depending on the browser and local machine used. Staff can
still see a sortable list of current checkouts on the members/moremember.pl page.
My revision prevents the template from including *any* tablesorter code if the
preference is feature is turned off: both the circulation list and
the holds list will have no jQuery tablesorter.

This patch removes the "return all" button altogether. Returning all items
is a step which one wouldn't take lightly or even regularly. Since the
interface has a means of selecting all checkboxes in the "Check in" column,
removing the "Return all" button wouldn't eliminate the means of doing so, it
would just require more deliberation.

* Updated IsMemberBlocked so that if a patron has accrued
fine days, that will be tested for first before testing
to see if the patron has current overdue items; this solves
a problem introduced in the patch series for bug 4505 where
accrued fine days would be ignored if (a) the patron has
current overdue items but (b) the library has chosen to
set the OverduesBlockCirc syspref to noblock.
* Now correctly assigns the USERBLOCKEDREMAINING and USERBLOCKEDOVERDUE

When issuing items, if a confirmation screen comes up,
another item can still be scanned into the barcode field.
If a librarian does not notice the confirmation dialog,
he or she may continue scanning items without confirming
the issue and thus give a patron an item without it actually
being issued to the patron.

question is answered.

Works for HTML5 because it loads smoothly and no plugins required but *at
this time* this update will only work with staff clients which are Firefox
version >=3.5 (std for Koha) but other browsers will soon be adding support.
Additional sounds are included for people to modify and play with, but this
is such a simple upgrade I doubt at this time Koha needs another complex
selector so users can add their own sounds. It could be a nice enhancement
later, of course.
Suggest we stick with HTML5 <audio tag because it is a standard and no
plug-ins.

This system is indended to replace the old opacnotes
and borrowernotes fields in the borrowers table.
This system allows an unlimited number of Libraran and OPAC notes to be
attached to a borrower. Each note has a message, a message type,
the data it was created, and which library created it.
Each message can only be deleted by the library that created it unless the syspref
AllowAllMessageDeletion has been set.
This system may be used simultaneously with the old notes system and does not affect it in any way.
A new database table (messages) was added for this feature.
The System also allows for pre-defined notes for Borrower records
To use these, just create authorised values with the category BOR_NOTES
where the Authorized Value is the short description shown in the pulldown,
and the description is the text that should be in the note.

Code cannot rely on issueinformation being populated.
Note there is room for better efficiency to have AddReturn also provide the
itemnumber (where existing) so that GetItemnumberFromBarcode is not called
at both levels. Unfortunately there is discrepancy between this idea (for
efficiency) and the stated purpose of the $iteminformation object returned,
since $iteminformation is specifically the info from the issues table and
MUST be empty when the item was not in fact issued.

selectbranchprinter now posts to itself to set the branch. That also means that
other pages can set the branch by linking to selectbranchprinter like:
/cgi-bin/koha/circ/selectbranchprinter.pl?branch=MAIN
We use HTTP_REFERER to allow the user to continue back to wherever they linked from,
defaulting to circulation.pl (the former POST target).
Note that all "branchprinter" functions are basically useless as the data is not
properly handled in the session storage. Chris C. expects this to be addressed
with later patches for HLT. There appear to be no 3.0 users of this intended
functionality yet.

Found this bug when playing with AutomaticItemReturn. The "Forgive overdue charges" and "Dropbox mode" would lose their value the item was transfered (if automatic transfer was off), caught a hold, or caught a hold at another location.
This patch does not completely do away with the problem. If an item is checked-in in simple mode, then one of the forms mentioned above opens, then the user checks one of the selection boxes, the value is not retained. Javasript would have to be added to transfer the value to the confirmation form when the checkbox is clicked.
This patch also cleans up a few minor XHTML errors.

Bug Report: 2866 Filtering and sorting the overdue report using patron attributes
1. Create a new system preference ?FilterBeforeOverdueReport?
2. Option to filter *before* the overdue report runs, avoiding report slowness
3. Add searchable patron attributes to the list of overdue report filters
4. Add searchable patron attributes to the sort fields on the overdue report
5. add item call number and replacement price
6. the CSV download link now returns the same
data as the web report, rather than (inconsistently)
trying to run the overdue_notices.pl batch job
7. always run report if requesting CSV
8. barcodes are now links
9. use item-level item type for overdue itemtype filter
Included is a new callback for searching patron attributes, similar
to circ/ysearch.pl.
The following additional bugs are fixed:
2748: Nothing is output to the .csv file for the "Overdues" circulation report
This is fixed by having circ/overdues.pl produce the CSV output directly instead
of trying to call the overdues cronjob. The CSV output includes all of the fields
that are displayed on the web table plus the item replacement price and any extended
patron attributes.
2836: overdues.csv may contain HTML
2837: Descending sort doesn't descend on the overdues report plus other probs with report

Javascript error in FF and IE when loading page and no data matches criteria.
This was because it was passing more holds than necessary to the template and
letting a template conditional inside the loop control whether to display or not.
That doesn't make sense, and it forces the table to be displayed even when all
rows FAIL the conditional. jquery.tablesorter was confused trying to be added
on top of an empty table with nothing to sort.
There were several other errors addressed by this patch:
~ 13 unused variables deleted.
~ regexps run on user-supplied $var before checking $var defined
