Not only additem suffers from it. We can do the same with serials-edit.
This patch adds a server-side and client-side check as we did for additem.
Test plan:
Receive serial with adding items.
Try to add more than 999 items in number of copies.

The idea rely on the KohaDates TT plugin for the date formatting. We
should not have any output_pref calls in pl or pm (there are some
exceptions, for ILSDI for instance).
Also flatpickr will deal with the places where dates are inputed. We
will pass the raw SQL value (what we call 'iso' in Koha::DateUtils), and
the controller will receive the same value, no need to additional
conversion.
Note that DBIC has the capability to auto-deflate DateTime objects,
which makes things way easier. We can either pass the value we receive
from the controller, or pass a DT object to our methods.

There are 2 prefs that control the default view of biblio detail pages:
IntranetBiblioDefaultView for staff and BiblioDefaultView for OPAC.
There are as well viewISBD, viewLabeledMARC and viewMARC to allow/don't
allow access to those page for staff members.
This code need to be in a single place to avoid discrepancy.
Test plan:
Play with BiblioDefaultView and IntranetBiblioDefaultView and confirm
that the links of biblio point to the correct view.

The indicator value for 952 was hard coded in every case to " ". In
order to achieve that we can simply pass undef to TransformHtmlToXml()
and it will set the indicator values to " ".
To test:
1) Make sure the submission of (at least some) the modified files
still work, e.g. test that making a new item via
cataloguing/additem.pl works.

On bug 17591 we discovered that there was something weird going on with
the way we export and use subroutines/modules.
This patch tries to standardize our EXPORT to use EXPORT_OK only.
That way we will need to explicitely define the subroutine we want to
use from a module.
This patch is a squashed version of:

The Bug 23435 introduced the idea of multiple copies added while
receiving a new issue. Unfortunately, under some circumstances, it
causes no items being added at all. It occurs stochastically, only
under some conditions. But it is quite likely to happen while receiving
a supplemental issue.
The reason fot hist is that, in serials-edit.pl, line ca 292 and infra,
@num_copies is treated in the same way as @tags, while it should be
treated similarly to @bibnums. It will be obvious after examining the
content of parameters tag, subfield, field_value, ..., number_of_copies.
In other words, for every edited issue number_of_copies is a scalar.
Nota bene:
a) beter to initialize $countdistinct with zero;
b) note that in master, now, before applying the patch,
$itemhash{$item}->{'num_copies'} is treated once as a scalar
and in the next line--as an array:
$itemhash{$item}->{'num_copies'} //= 1;
for (my $copy = 0; $copy < $itemhash{$item}->{'num_copies'}[$index];){
TEST PLAN
=========
1. Have a subscription with the option "Create an item

This feature allows you to add multiple item records when receiving a
serial, if the subscription is set to 'create item record when receiving
serials'. Please note this is not the same as multi-receiving, more like
multi-adding!
To test:
1) Create a subscription, ensure the 'Create an item record when
receiving this serial' option is selected
2) Receive a serial
3) Expand the item form by selecting 'click to add item'
4) Fill in details, including a barcode. Leave 'number of copies' as 1
and Save.
5) Confirm the serial is received as expected.
6) In another tab, open the bibliographic record attached to this
subscription
7) Confirm the item record was created upon receiving the serial
8) Go back to the serial collection and receive next serial
9) Expand the item form by selecting 'click to add item'
10) Fill in details again, this time change 'number of copies' to a
different number e.g. 3, and Save
11) Confirm the serial is received as expected.
12) Check back at the biblio record that 3 item records were created and
the barcode was incremented for each additional item.

This patch ensures the routing notes are carried over when generating
the next serial.
To test:
1) Create a routing list for a subscription
2) Add a borrower and a note to the routing list
3) Generate the next serial (serials-collection.pl)
4) Edit the routing list to see the notes
5) Note that the notes have disappeared
6) Apply patch
7) Edit the routing list, add a note
8) Generate the next serial
9) Edit the routing list and confirm the note is still there
10) Confirm you are still able to edit serials (serials-edit.pl) and
routing notes stay

The idea of output_and_exit_if_error (added by bug 18403) is to make sure
parameters are valid before executing the script.
If not (old or broken URLs), we shortcut everything coming next to display a
generic error ("object does not exist", "you do not have permission to do that", etc.)
This bug report fixes the scripts under serials/*.
Test plan:
Hit the script under the serials directory with an invalid subscriptionid parameter
and confirm you get an error instead of the normal view with empty values.
The goal is not to be exhaustive during the first iteration, but at least to fix
the most common views.

C4::Items::GetItemnumberFromBarcode calls can be replaced with
Koha::Items->find({ barcode => $barcode });
We should make sure the barcode existed in DB and so that ->find
returns an object. Note that most of the time we just wanted to know if
the barcode existed.
The changes are very simple, the only one that need attention is
the one in batchMod.pl. It is basically reusing what we did on
bug 21141.
Test plan:
Use the batch item modification/deletion tools to modify/delete items
from their barcode (using the textarea or a file)

Most of the time C4::Biblio::GetBiblioData is used to retrieve the title
and/or the author of a bibliographic record.
This patch replaces the easy occurrences of GetBiblioData, the ones
where the 2 joins are needed, but only data from biblio and biblioitems
table are.
Test plan:
It will be hard to test everything, I'd suggest a QAer to review this
patch and confirm that the difference occurrences of GetBiblioData have
been correctly replaced by calling Koha::Biblios->find or
$biblio->bibioitem

When enabling the makePreviousSerialAvailable syspref, the previously
received serial's itemtype is set as defined in the subscription.
(Please note that the item-level_itypes syspref must be set to specific item.)

Warning: This area is a mess, especially with date management.
For the same reasons as other "Remove C4::Dates from*" patches, this one
will deal with the serials module.
Note that this patch add the datepicker on 3 input fields (on
serials/subscription-detail.tt and serials/subscription-renew.tt).
There was also weird behavior when the dates were invalid. Now default
to undefined. But with the datepicker it will reduce the number of
cases even if the user is still allowed to fill invalid dates.
Test plan:
1/ Create a subscription, fill the first issue pub date and the
subscription start date.
You can fill or not the end date.
Play with the numbering pattern and confirm that there are generated as
before this patch.
2/ On the check expiration page, confirm that the dates are correctly
displayed.
3/ Renew the subscription and confirm that the behavior is correct.
4/ Go on the subscription history page and confirm you have now the
datepicker plugin set on the 2 date fields.
QA notes: The startdate, histstartdate and enddate are not used in
the serials-collection template, this patch removes them from the pl
script.
Tested on top of 15166 15168 15171, full browser reload for date pickers.
Note for 4/: It is the link in tab planning on subscription
detail page, near "Manual history" (if manual history is enabled).
Works as advertised.

There are some issues with serial permissions.
For instance it's not possible to receive serials if the
edit_subscription is not set.
Also the toolbar is empty.
Test plan:
1/ Set the serials => receive_serials permissions to a patron (and only
this one for the serials module).
2/ Verify you cannot create a new subscription, you can search
subscriptions but cannot edit them.
3/ On the serial result list, receive a serial (action > Serial
receive).
You can now change the status and receive it.
4/ On the serial collection, you can edit 1+ serials to reveice it.
5/ Set the serials => edit_subscription permission and confirm there is
no regression.
QA note: I think we should introduce a C4::Serials::can_receive_serials
subroutine, to test the IndependentBranches pref, but I don't want to
add to much processing to check permissions.

Since we switched to Template Toolkit we don't need to stick with the
sufix we used for HTML::Template::Pro.
This patch changes the occurences of '.tmpl' in favour of '.tt'.
To test:
- Apply the patch
- Install koha, and verify that every page can be accesed

In the serial module, we want to hide serials from others libraries.
However, to permit central serials manage, this patch introduces a
new permission, 'superserials'. If a staff member has this permission,
that person can override the restriction.
Test plan:
- Switch on the IndependantBranches syspref
- Add the permission 'superserials' for a patron and test you can
navigate and see all serials
- Remove this permission and test you cannot manage/view subscriptions
from others libraries

The script serials-edit.pl is not checking for the existence of the
barcode field before checking for barcode subfield for autoBarcode =
incremental. If the barcode field doesn't exist, the script dies with
errors.

If a subscription is no longer enough published (or we are not waiting
for a new periodical) we are allowed to close it.
If a subscription is closed, we are not able to receive or generate a
new serial.
On the serial module, we can now
- close a subscriptionn
- reopen a closed subscription
On serial search 2 tabs is displayed (opened and closed subscriptions).
This patch adds:
- a new field subscription.closed in DB
- a new status for serials (8 = stopped)
Test plan:
- search subscriptions
- close a subscription and check that you cannot receive or generate a
new serial
- launch another search and check that the closed serial is into the "closed"
tab.
- You are allowed to reopen a subscription on the subscription detail
page and on the subscription result page. A javascript alert ask you
if are certain to do this operation.
- Check the serial status "stopped" everywhere the status is
displayed (catalogue/detail.pl, serials/claims.pl,
serials/serial-issues-full.pl, serials/serials-collection.pl,
serials/serials-edit.pl, serials/serials-recieve.pl,
serials/subscription-detail.pl and opac-full-serial-issues.pl)
- The report statistics does not include the closed subscriptions if you

- adds ean and its mapping in default english bibliographic framework
- adds ean mapping in default french bibliographic framework
- ean search is not enabled for MARC21
The required mapping between the ean marc field and the biblioitems.ean
database field will be automatically added on an existing unimarc installation.
However, if you already have records with ean, you will have to
run misc/batchRebuildBiblioTables.pl to populate biblioitems.ean

Passed QA at second run. Removed a merge marker only.
Corrects templates to use permission receive_serials.
Before patch:
1) Serial receive page (/cgi-bin/koha/serials/serials-edit.pl...)
can only be accessed with full serials permissions.
When one permission is missing, page can not be accessed.
2) Serial collection/Issue History page (/cgi-bin/koha/serials/serials-collection.pl...)
can only be accessed with full serials permissions.
After applying patch:
1) Serial receive page can only be accessed when user has receive_serials
permission.
2) Edit and serial receive links are hidden, when user doesn't have
serials_receive permission. Page is accessible with at least 1 serials
permission.
I will send a another patch to correct behaviour for the routing permission.

Bug 7546 Do not call routine as bareword
Fixes compilation errors due to calling routine without parens
Also nothing was gained (and obfuscation added) by forcing
the return into a hash ref have changed variable to hash
tidied up the if else chain
These routines should be refactored out future

bug 7546 follow-up, enabled_staff_search_views problem
* enabled_staff_search_views was not exported by C4::Search, should have been
* serials/serials-edit.pl were also missing it

Note: I had some problems with tests, but it is probably related to my data and not this patch.
Corrects a problem when an UTF-8 character is used in the serial
numbering formula. The encoding became incorrect when concatenating the
number in the subscriptionhistory table.

To test:
- add a new subscription, choose 'create items on receive'
- receive some issues and create items > should work ok
- create a supplement, alone or at the same time as receiving a normal issue
- check if item was created and attached to the biblio record
Without patch this should give you an error message. Although supplement will be created,
no item will be added to the bibliogrpahic record.
With patch applied there should be no error message and the item should be created
and attached to the proper record.

HasSubscriptionExpired is not a boolean return it may also
return that a valid subscription enddate is not set
This should not block receipting of issues

As a consequence of previous MT3667 patch, the subscriptionid list was processed.
And unfortunately, since array order is the only relevant information from HTML processing,
it caused subscriptionid to be null for a double edition.
This patch only uses uniq for serials-collection and when passing information to serials-collection page.
