This patch allows merging of records with many items without the web server timing out.
Test plan:
Without the patch:
- Create 2 records (one with e.g. 1000 items).
- Do a cataloguing search that displays both records, select them and click "Merge selected".
- Choose the record with many items as the one to be eliminated.
- Start the merging.
- After a while the web server should give you a timeout error (the merging process may still continue)
With the patch:
- Do the same as above
- This time verify that the records are merged without timeout
- Create a new biblio with an item
- Add with the item:
* acquisition order
* hold (reserve)
- Merge the biblio to another one
- Verify that the item and its related data was moved
- Verify that tests pass:
prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/Biblio.t
prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/Item.t
prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/SearchEngine/Indexer.t

On bug 17591 we discovered that there was something weird going on with
the way we export and use subroutines/modules.
This patch tries to standardize our EXPORT to use EXPORT_OK only.
That way we will need to explicitely define the subroutine we want to
use from a module.
This patch is a squashed version of:
Bug 17600: After export.pl
Bug 17600: After perlimport
Bug 17600: Manual changes
Bug 17600: Other manual changes after second perlimports run
Bug 17600: Fix tests
And a lot of other manual changes.
export.pl is a dirty script that can be found on bug 17600.
"perlimport" is:
git clone https://github.com/oalders/App-perlimports.git
cd App-perlimports/
cpanm --installdeps .
export PERL5LIB="$PERL5LIB:/kohadevbox/koha/App-perlimports/lib"
find . \( -name "*.pl" -o -name "*.pm" \) -exec perl App-perlimports/script/perlimports --inplace-edit --no-preserve-unused --filename {} \;
The ideas of this patch are to:
* use EXPORT_OK instead of EXPORT
* perltidy the EXPORT_OK list
* remove '&' before the subroutine names
* remove some uneeded use statements
* explicitely import the subroutines we need within the controllers or
modules
Note that the private subroutines (starting with _) should not be
exported (and not used from outside of the module except from tests).
EXPORT vs EXPORT_OK (from
https://www.thegeekstuff.com/2010/06/perl-exporter-examples/)
"""
Export allows to export the functions and variables of modules to user’s namespace using the standard import method. This way, we don’t need to create the objects for the modules to access it’s members.
@EXPORT and @EXPORT_OK are the two main variables used during export operation.
@EXPORT contains list of symbols (subroutines and variables) of the module to be exported into the caller namespace.
@EXPORT_OK does export of symbols on demand basis.
"""
If this patch caused a conflict with a patch you wrote prior to its
push:
* Make sure you are not reintroducing a "use" statement that has been
removed
* "$subroutine" is not exported by the C4::$MODULE module
means that you need to add the subroutine to the @EXPORT_OK list
* Bareword "$subroutine" not allowed while "strict subs"
means that you didn't imported the subroutine from the module:
- use $MODULE qw( $subroutine list );
You can also use the fully qualified namespace: C4::$MODULE::$subroutine

This patch changes the parameters for several of the CourseReserves routines to take a single
identifier exclusively.
Following the existing pattern we simply return if the params are incorrect
This patch also:
removes an unused 'title' variable
adds a prefetch to save some db calls where we fetch related objects
adjusts tests

This patch updates C4::Circulation::LostItem to use the Koha::Item and
Koha::Item::Transfer methods to cancel transfers when an item is marked
as lost.

patches
2/ Apply the patch and run updatedatabase.pl

This patch rewrites the complex search query to reduce the risk of
reordering the results multiple times.
This patch includes a change to schema files so may need to upgrade
schema and/or restart memcached
To test:
1) Reproduce problem following test plan in Description
2) Apply patch and refresh page
3) Notice the correct patron is now shown
4) Play with date selection, confirm correct results are still shown
5) Test cancelling holds
6) Test filtering table results
7) Test with biblios with multiple items
8) Test with making items unavailable (i.e. not for loan, checked out)

This patch adds a 'library' relationship to the Issue and OldIssue
resultsets, to be used in the Koha::*Checkout classes corresponding
accessors. This way we will be able to eventually embed and filter on
library fields on the API.
The ->library method is then added to the classes-
To test:
1. Apply this patch
2. Run:
$ kshell
k$ prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Old.t t/db_dependent/Koha/Checkout.t
=> SUCCESS: Tests pass!
