This patch adds two system preferences options : 'RetainCatalogSearchTerms' and 'RetainPatronsSearchTerms'. If enabled, search terms will be retained between searches made from, respectively, the Search Catalog header and the Checkout or Search Patrons headers. If disabled, the searchbars will clear out between page loads.
Attention, this is an alternate solution from the previous patches, ONLY apply this patch when testing and not the previous ones.Changed the syspref wording as well.
To test:
1 - From the staff client, search some terms using the Check out header search bar.
2 - Confirm search terms are retained.
3 - Do Step 1-2 twice again, this time using the Search patrons and Search the catalog.
4 - Apply patch (again, only this one), update database.
5 - In the system preferences, look for RetainCatalogSearchTerms and set it to 'don't retain'.
6 - Use the checkout head search bar again, confirm that search terms aren't retained after page load.
7 - Do Step 5-6 once again, this time with the RetainPatronsSearchTerms and the Search Patrons and Search the catalog headers.
8 - Search boxes should be cleared.

Bug 28373 added system preference PassItemMarcToXSLT is referenced is all XSLT system preferences.
But it only applies on results pages.
The only use in perl code is in C4::Search :
> $marcrecord->delete_fields( @fields ) unless C4::Context->preference('PassItemMarcToXSLT');
I've tested by adding in all XSLT files :
<strong>ITEMS <xsl:value-of select="count(marc:datafield[@tag=952])"/> </strong>
Number of items only appears in OPAC and staff interface results pages.
In fact only search pages get MARC record from search engine, in which items datas have been embedded for indexing.
In other pages MARC record does not embed items datas.
This patch adds "MARC21 952, UNIMARC 995" to be explicit we talk about
MARC datas not item tags build in XML recieved by XSLT.
Test plan :
1) Apply patch
2) Search for PassItemMarcToXSLT in system preferencies
3) Look at description of PassItemMarcToXSLT
4) Check PassItemMarcToXSLT only apprears in OPACXSLTResultsDisplay and XSLTResultsDisplay

This patch adds a new system preference, OpacAdvancedSearchTypes, as an
OPAC-specific version of the AdvancedSearchTypes preference. Values from
AdvancedSearchTypes are copied to OpacAdvancedSearchTypes so that
behavior is consistent.
The patch also alters the output of the "Most popular" page so that:
1. The page heading is correct ("Most popular titles" instead of "Top
issues").
2. The table show both item type and collection whether or not the user
has submitted query with one of those fields as a filter.
To test, apply the patch and run the database update process.
- Go to Administration -> System preferences.
- Search for AdvancedSearchTypes. You should get two results, one for
the OPAC preference and one for the staff interface.
- Check that the OpacAdvancedSearchTypes settings match the
AdvancedSearchTypes settings.
- View the advanced search pages in the staff interface and OPAC to
confirm that the tabs look correct.
- Change the OpacAdvancedSearchTypes and AdvancedSearchTypes settings to
be different and confirm that each is applied separately to each
interface.
- Enable the OpacTopissue system preference.
- View the "Most popular" page in the OPAC.
- The page heading should be correct.
- The OpacAdvancedSearchTypes settings should be reflected in the
"Refine your search" sidebar: If "Collection" is checked, a filter
for collection should appear. If "Item types" is checked, a filter
for item types should appear.
- The output of your search should include collection and item type
regardless of what filters you've submitted.

This commit allows librarians to choose whether they want to query the
homebranch, holdingbranch or homebranch AND holdingbranch when they set
a library or library group search condition in the staff client and OPAC
advanced searches.
Test plan:
1. Apply patches, update database, restart services
2. Set up a record with one item. Edit the item so that:
home branch = Branch A
holding/current branch = Branch B.
Note the barcode of your item.
3. Go to Administration -> Library Groups. Create a library group that
only contains Branch A.
= homebranch and holdingbranch =
4. Go to Administration -> System preferences and find the new
SearchLimitLibrary syspref. Confirm it is set to 'homebranch and
holdingbranch' by default. Keep this tab open.
5. Go to Advanced Search in the staff client in another tab. Under 'location and
availability', select your library group from the dropdown. Under
'search for', select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
6. Submit the search and confirm you are taken to your item as expected.
7. Go back to Advanced Search. Under 'location and availability', select
Branch A from the individual libraries dropdown. Under 'search for',
select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
8. Submit the search and confirm you are taken to your item as expected.
9. Go back to Advanced Search. Under 'location and availability', select
Branch B from the individual libraries dropdown. Under 'search for',
select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
10. Submit the search and confirm you are taken to your item as expected.

11. Go back to your System preferences tab. Set the SearchLimitLibrary
syspref to 'homebranch'. keep this tab open.
12. Go to Advanced Search in the staff client in another tab. Under 'location and
availability', select your library group from the dropdown. Under
'search for', select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
13. Submit the search and confirm you are taken to your item as expected,
because the syspref is set to homebranch and the library group contains our item's
homebranch.
14. Go back to Advanced Search. Under 'location and availability', select
Branch A from the individual libraries dropdown. Under 'search for',
select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
15. Submit the search and confirm you are taken to your item as expected.
16. Go back to Advanced Search. Under 'location and availability', select
Branch B from the individual libraries dropdown. Under 'search for',
select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
17. Submit the search and confirm you are NOT taken to your item and your item
does not show in the search results.
= holdingbranch only =
18. Go back to your System preferences tab. Set the SearchLimitLibrary
syspref to 'holdingbranch'. keep this tab open.
19. Go to Advanced Search in the staff client in another tab. Under 'location and
availability', select your library group from the dropdown. Under
'search for', select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
20. Submit the search and confirm you are NOT taken to your item and your
item does not show in the search results, because the syspref is set to
holdingbranch and the library group does not contain our item's holdingbranch.
21. Go back to Advanced Search. Under 'location and availability', select
Branch B from the individual libraries dropdown. Under 'search for',
select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
22. Submit the search and confirm you are taken to your item as expected.
23. Go back to Advanced Search. Under 'location and availability', select
Branch A from the individual libraries dropdown. Under 'search for',
select the barcode option and enter your item's barcode.
24. Submit the search and confirm you are NOT taken to your item and your item
does not show in the search results.
25. Repeat the above test plan but do your searching with the OPAC
advanced search.

At the last development meeting we have voted to remove the
QueryParser-related code
https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Development_IRC_meeting_19_February_2020
Hea tells us that it has not been adopted, and the code/bug tracker that
it is not really usable as it. As nobody is willing to work on it, we
decided to remove it instead.
Test plan:
% prove t/db_dependent/Search.t
must return green
See commits from bug 9239 and confirm that the code is removed in this
patch.
Also play with the search on the UI and confirm that you do not see
obvious regressions

Add "QueryRegexEscapeOption" system preference to provide option to escape
Elasticsearch regexp delimiters (/) within queries, or alternativly to
unescape escaped slashes (\/) while escaping unescaped slashes, in
effect making "\/" the new regexp delimiter.
How to test:
1) Run tests in ./t/Koha/SearchEngine/ElasticSearch/QueryBuilder.t

This patch makes it possible to configure LIBRIS spellchecker as a
"did you mean" feature. When searching for a word or phrase and misspelling
the query will be sent to LIBRIS and if they have a suggestion it will
be shown in the yellow did you mean box in the results page.
The API is not very quick so this type of implementation was chosen to not
disrupt the real-time feeling of the search.
To test:
1. Apply the patch.
2. Go to http://api.libris.kb.se/bibspell/, enter the koha servers IP and click
on the "Generera nyckel" button.
3. Under "Nyckel" you can copy the value that looks like this: E47B44829E265607274B677BC17B8D78,
and enter it into the LibrisKey syspref (cgi-bin/koha/admin/preferences.pl?tab=searching).
4. In cgi-bin/koha/admin/didyoumean.pl check the box for using the LIBRIS API. It is only implemented for OPAC.
5. Perform some searches:
tset - Did you mean should suggest: test
jeg är på smester - suggestion: jag är på semester
dantes inferna - suggestion: dantes inferno

This patch adds the same feature as bug 10858 for the OPAC interface:
after a search, librarians will be able to browse selected results.
The results can be selected from several pages.
By extension it is possible to add results from several pages to a list
or the cart.
When at least one result is selected, a new "Browse selected records" button
becomes usable and change the behaviour of the existing browser.
The whole feature can be turned off with the pref BrowseResultSelection.
Test plan:
- Launch a search (on the staff interface)
- Check some biblios
- Go on another page
- Check some biblios
- Come back to a page you already check results and confirm that they are
still checked
- Click on the "Browse selected records" button
- Check that you are able to browse results you had checked.
You can also:
- add them to the cart
- add them to a list
QA note: the browsers at the OPAC and the one at the staff interface are completely different
That's why the code is not mimicking what has been done on bug 10858.
The behaviour must stay the same anyway.

Added a syspref LoadHistory addSearchHistoryToTheFirstLoggedUser to select if you want the system to add the history of searches performed without session when you log in as registered user.
TEST PLAN
1 - Search in the catalogue, check you are not logged
2 - Log in : your last history should appear
4 - Log out
5 - Apply the patch
6 - Repeat 1 and 2
7 - Desactivate the syspref addSearchHistoryToTheFirstLoggedUser
8 - Repeat 1 and 2 : your last history shouldn't appear
The Unit test doesn't rollback but delete the added lines : the function get_template_and_user allway sets the autocommit to 1.

There's a typo in the explanation for the new MaxSearchResultsItemsPerRecordStatusCheck sys pref that was added in 3.22.2.
"If a record has more than this number of items, they availability statuses ..."
I have re-worded the description so it reads a bit better.
Test plan:
1. Check the description for syspref MaxSearchResultsItemsPerRecordStatusCheck.
2. Apply patch
3. Check syspref MaxSearchResultsItemsPerRecordStatusCheck description
to make sure it makes sense.

If a record has more than 20 items, all the items over 20 will show as
available on the search results even if they are not!
This is a hard coded limit in the Search module. This number should be
configurable.
Test Plan:
1) Create a record with more than 20 items
2) Set all the items to waiting holds or in transit
3) Search for results that will include that item
4) Note some say they are available even though they are not
5) Apply this patch
6) Run updatedatabase.pl
7) Set the new system preference MaxSearchResultsItemsPerRecordStatusCheck
to a number larger than the number of items on your record
8) Re-run the search
9) Note that the hold and transit statuses for the items are now correct

This enhancement adds the ability to search on all isbn variations when
searching on the isbn index.
Test plan:
0/ Don't apply the patch
1/ Create or choose a notice with an isbn with dashes.
2/ Try to search the notice using the isbn index by it isbn without
dashes.
=> It does not work.
3/ Apply the patch, enable the new pref SearchWithISBNVariations and
disable UseQueryParser.
4/ repeat 2 and note that the record is now returned.
Note that this only works if UseQueryParser is disabled.
It looks like QueryParser does not manage more than 1 operator.
