It looks to me like we can remove the visibility properties from the
home button CSS and wrap the text in a <span> with Bootstrap 5's
"visually-hidden-focusable" class:

That appears to give us the behavior we want: A focusable icon which
isn't obscured by the focus border.

In the staff interface, test some pages by using tab or shift-tab to
move between elements on the page to confirm that the home icon can be

This patch updates the authority and bibliographic subfield entry
forms to replace tab markup with the use of WRAPPERs. Some JS has been
modified in order to adapt to the changed Bootstrap tab markup.
The patch also updates the WRAPPER code so that a unique ID can be
added to individual tabs. This is necessary as a hook for the Sortable
JavaScript.
To test, apply the patch and go to Administration.
- Go to MARC bibliographic frameworks -> Actions -> MARC structure.
- Click Actions -> View subfields for a tag with more than one
subfield.
- Click the "Edit" button for one of the subfields, not the first
one in the list.
- The tab for the subfield you chose should be active.
- Confirm that all the tabs look correct and work correctly.
- Try dragging one of the tabs into a new position. Save your
changes and confirm that the subfield was saved in that new
position.
- Go to Administration -> Authority types -> Actions -> MARC structure
and repeat the same steps above with the authority record subfields.

This patch adds the order search form to the Acquisitions home page.
I've modified acqui-home.pl so that it will pass the same default date
limiters as histsearch.pl.
To test, apply the patch and go to Acquisitions.
Test the order search form to confirm that it works as expected. Any
search from this version of the form should return identical results to
seraches performed from the "Advanced search" link in the sidebar.

This patch updates the OPAC and staff interface to use Bootstrap 5.
Bootstrap CSS assets are now pulled from node_modules and compiled into
staff-global.css and opac.css at build time. This update lays the
foundations of some other chnages, especially the addition of a dark
mode in the future.
Hundreds of templates have been updated, mostly with updates to the grid
markup. Most of the responsive behavior is still the same with the
exception of improved flexibility of headers and footers in both the
OPAC and staff interface.
The other most common change is to add a new "namespace" to data
attributes used by Bootstrap, e.g. "data-bs-target" or "data-bs-toggle".
Modal markup has also been updated everywhere. Other common changes:
dropdown button markup, alert markup (we now use Bootstrap's "alert
alert-warning" and "alert alert-info" instead of our old "dialog alert"
and "dialog info").
Bootstrap 5 now uses CSS variables which we can override in our own
'_variables.scss' (in both the OPAC and staff) to accomplish a lot of
the style overrides which we previously put in staff-global.scss.

I found that when switching from a branch with a default register to one without, the default register for
the last branch was remaining selected (though disabled)
When opening the page if no desk was set (choose 'My library' on initial login) the branch was default to 'No desk' rather than defaulting to the first desk of the current branch
Remove a debugging line as well

This patch adds an expandable "panel" in the user dropdown menu in the
staff client. Expanding the panel will load the form from
set-library.pl, including library, desk and register options if present.
The patch moves the contents of desk_selection.js and
register_selection.js into staff-global.js so that the functionality is
available on every page.

This patch refactors the javascript that runs on the set library page. If the logged in user branch code is the same as the seleceted library, default the desk selection to the current logged in desk id. Otherwise set the default desk selection to the first option for the current branch.
Test plan:
1. Turn on UseCirculationDesks
2. Create a few desks with unique names for a few different libraries
3. Set your library and desk
4. Reload set-library.pl and notice that the desk always defaults to the last option for the library selected
5. Apply patch and restart_all
6. Reload set-library.pl and notice that the desk selection defaults to your current logged in desk
7. Try changing the library selection to libraries with and without desks
8. Notice that the desk selection defaults to the first option available for the selected library
9. Notice that the desk selection defaults to the --- no desk for libraries without desks
10. Notice the desk selection defaults to the currenty logged in desk if you select the library you are currently logged into

This patch adds Template::Toolkit WRAPPER blocks to html_helpers.inc so
that templates can build Bootstrap accordion components while keeping
the Bootstrap structural markup separate.
Each individual component of a Bootstrap accordion interface is defined:
- Group container
- Collapsible item
- Item heading
- Item content
Included is a usage example:

This patch updates the checkout and patron details templates so
that they use the new WRAPPER directive to build tabbed navigation.
The markup for the tab navigation and tab panels is moved into its own
include file since the templates were duplicating essentially the same
code.
To fully test you should have patrons with checkouts, fines, holds,
recalls, and article requests.
Apply the patch and go to the checkout page in the staff interface. With
each tab, test as much functionality as you can within that tab.
- Checkouts
- Holds
- Recalls (with UseRecalls enabled)
- Claims (with a LOST value defined in ClaimReturnedLostValue)
- Restrictions
- Article Requests (with ArticleRequests preference enabled)
- Clubs (with at least one club defined)
- Relatives' checkouts (patron must have a guarantee linked to their
account).
Perform the same tests on the patron details page. Note that the
"Charges" tab is shown on the patron details page but not the checkout
page. This is not a change made by this patch.

This patch updates templates which have already been updated to use the
new tab WRAPPER system for generating tab markup. Templates are changed
so that tab label strings are wrapped in <span> to make them
translatable.
The html_helpers include file is also updated so that the example code
in comments shows the right pattern (the breadcrumb example is similarly
corrected).
To test apply the patch and run the translation script to update the .po
files, e.g.

This patch reformats some Template::Toolkit multi-line comments in
html_helpers.inc so that each line is commented separately. This seems
to prevent the translation tool from putting the comments into the po
file.
To test, apply the patch and confirm that pages which use the
breadcrumbs and tabs WRAPPER directives still work correctly:
- Breadcrumbs: staff client home page, about page, error page.
- Tabs: Administration -> Library transfer limits or circulation alerts.
- To test translatability, run the translation tool for any language,
e.g.
perl misc/translator/translate update fr-FR
Search the regenerated po file (in this example
misc/translator/po/fr-FR-staff-prog.po) to confirm that there is no

This patch updates the saved SQL reports template so that it uses the
new WRAPPER directive to build tab markup.
To test, apply the patch and go to Reports -> Use saved. In order to
properly test the patch you should have multiple reports defined with
multiple categories ("Accounts", "Acquisitions", "Catalog", etc.).
Clicking each tab should filter the table of reports correctly.
After navigating away from the page and back to it, your selected tab
should be remembered.

This patch adds a warning and tool tip when an unauthorised vlaue is encountered during item
or biblio editing, and adds the value to the list to allow preserving the value (in case the
librarian is only editing another part of the record, or there is some reason to retain)

2 - Under settings click 'Show fields verbatim'
3 - Edit 942$c to 'HAM' or some other invalid itemtype
4 - Save record

This patch makes a minor correction to the tab WRAPPER directives: a

The patch also modifies the example WRAPPER markup to correct an error
and clarify usage.

you're logged in as
3. Go to: 'Cataloguing' > 'Batch item deletion'
4. Into the barcode list area paste the checked-out item's barcode and the barcode of a non-checked out item (with the same home library as the branch you're logged in as) and submit the form
5. Observe in the table that loads the row containing the checked out item is highlighted
yellow, and it has a red cross in the first column.
6. Hover over the red cross to see the reason why you cannot delete the
item appears
7. Observe the non checked out item has a checkbox and is not
highlighted yellow
8. Click 'Select all' and 'Clear all' links and notice the display of
the checked out item remains unchanged

This patch modifies the breadcrumbs WRAPPER in html_helpers.inc so that
the default "Home" link has a title attribute set to "Home."
To test, apply the patch and view any page which has been updated to use
the breadcrumbs WRAPPER. For example, cities administration, the
staff interface home page, the about page.
Hover your mouse over the house icon in the breadcrumb navigation and
you should see a "Home" tooltip.

This patch lays the groundwork for updating the way we build breadcrumb
navigation on each page, and implements it on the cities administration
page as a proof of concept.
The page creates two blocks, 'breadcrumbs' and 'breadcrumb_item'
'breadcrumbs' builds the outer structure of the menu, currently:

It automatically adds the "Home" link which appears on all pages.
The 'breadcrumb_item' block builds the list item which contains the
individual link.

each variation of the page, check the breadcrumbs menu:
- On the initial summary view it should be:
Home -> Administration -> Cities
- Click "New city" and the menu should be:
Home -> Administration -> Cities -> New city
- When you edit a city:
Home -> Administration -> Cities -> Modify city
- When you delete a city:

This patch adds a new class to toolbars in certain contexts: Where the
toolbar contains only text links (as opposed to Bootstrap-styled
controls). This lets us set some comfortable padding on the links.

Test the following pages to confirm that the toolbar of selection links
("Select all," "Clear all," etc.) has legible spacing.

This patch records the bundle issue from which an item is marked as lost
so that we may use that to infer who lost the item (for later charges
and display).
Test plan
0) Apply all patches up to this point
1) Checkout a bundle to a user
2) Checkin the bundle and do not scan one of the barcodes at
confirmation
* Note that the item not scanned is marked as lost
3) Navigate to the biblio for the lost item and note that it is marked
as lost.
4) Navigate to the biblio for the collection and expand the collection
item that contains the lost item. Note the item is marked as lost and
checkout details are listed.
5) Checkin the lost item
* The item should be marked as found and the return_claims line should
be marked as resolved.

There are 2 prefs that control the default view of biblio detail pages:
IntranetBiblioDefaultView for staff and BiblioDefaultView for OPAC.
There are as well viewISBD, viewLabeledMARC and viewMARC to allow/don't
allow access to those page for staff members.
This code need to be in a single place to avoid discrepancy.
Test plan:
Play with BiblioDefaultView and IntranetBiblioDefaultView and confirm
that the links of biblio point to the correct view.

Problem arises after applying bugfix 27526 and 28445: with
IndependentBranches on, a librarian without superlibrarian privileges,
can edit (and potentially delete) every item (i.e. also from a foreign
branch). This is because can_be_edited calculation is buggy (in two spots).
Test plan:
1. Have (at least) two branches defined.
2. Have IndependentBranches set.
3. Have a biblio record with items belonging to different branches.
4. Be a librarian without superlibrarian rights, with editcatalogue
and tool permissions set.
Scenario A (Edit items):
1. Go to Edit -> Edit items view (cataloguing/additems.pl).
2. You will be able to edit every item, also ones not from the branch
you are from (cf. the button 'Actions').
3. Apply the patch.
4. Repeat 1.
5. You should be able to edit only the items from your branch.
Scenario B (Edit items in batch):
1. From Normal view go to Edit -> Edit items in batch.
2. You will be able to batch edit every item, also ones not from the branch
you are from.
3. Apply the patch.
4. Repeat 1.

This patch reuse the (awesome) Koha::Result::Boolean module to retrieve
the return of Koha::Item->safe_to_delete.
Test plan:
Try to delete an item that has previously been checked out and confirm
that you are still blocked.
Try using the cronjobs, the item and biblio detail pages, as well as the
batch delete item tool.

The selector is not correct, we must to not rely on the number.
This patch fixes a regression caused by bug 28445, but also a
long-standing bug.

* Long standing bug:
If there are several item forms on the same page, the branchcode is not
correctly retrieved. For instance on the "Serial edition" page there are
2 item forms, the homebranch that is used by the barcode plugin will be
the one from the last form.
Test plan:

Set autoBarcode=<branchcode>yymm0001
Catalogue a new item, click into the barcode input
Notice that without this patch you get a JS error in the console
* long standing bug
Create a new subscription, select "Create an item record when receiving this serial".
Receive a serial
Open the 2 item forms ("Click to add item")
Select 2 different home library and click the barcode inputs.
The prefix (branchcode) should be correct with this patch applied.
QA Note: it would be way easier if all add item forms were using the new

This patch makes the code for itemtypeslimit work, and adds options for shelving location and collection code
This also remove the 'post' method from the form to allow easy bookmarking
To test:
1 - Add holds to your system
2 - Run the holds queue builder
3 - Browse to Circulation->Holds queue
4 - Note the library dropdown
5 - Apply patch
6 - Reload and note new options
7 - Test that both limits and 'All' options work as expected

Here we go!
Disclaimer: this patch is huge and does many things, but splitting it in
several chunks would be time consuming and painful to rebase. However it
adds many tests and isolate/refactor code to make it way more reusable.
This patchset will make the "batch item modification" and "batch item
deletion" features use the task queue (reminder: Since bug 28158, and so
21.05.00, we do no longer use the old "background job" functionality and
the user does not get any info about the progress of the job).
More than that, more of the code to build an item form and a list of
items is now isolated in module (.pm) and include files (.inc)
We are reusing the changes made by bug 27526 that simplifies the way we
edit/create items (no more unecessary serialization Koha > MARC > MARCXML
> XML > HTML)
New module:
* Koha::BackgroundJob::BatchDeleteItem
Subclass for process item deletion in batch
* Koha::BackgroundJob::BatchUpdateItem
Subclass for process item modification in batch
* Koha::Item::Attributes
We needed an object to represent item's attributes that are not
mapped with a koha field (aka "more subfields xml")
This module will help us to create the marcxml from a hashref and the
reverse.
* Koha::UI::Form::Builder::Item
The code that was used to build the add/edit item form is
centralised in this module. In conjunction with the
subfields_for_item BLOCK (from html_helpers.inc) it will be really
easy to reuse this code in other places where the item form is used
(acquisition and serials modules)
* Koha::UI::Table::Builder::Items
Same as previously for the table. We are now using this table from 3
different places (batch item mod, batch item del, backgroung job
detail view) and the code is only in one place.
To use with items_table_batchmod BLOCK (still from html_helpers.inc)
This patch is fixing some bugs about repeatable subfields and regex. A UI
change will reflect the limitation: if you want to apply a regex on a
subfield you cannot add several subfields for the same subfield code.
Test plan:
Prepare the ground:
- Make sure you are always using a bibliographic/item record using the framework
you are modifying!
- Add some subfields for items that are not mapped with a koha field
(note that you can use 'é' for more fun, don't try more funny
characters)
- Make some subfields (mapped and not mapped with a kohafield)
repeatable
- Add default values to some of your subfields
There are 4 main screens to test:
1. Add/edit item form
The behaviour should be the same before and after this patch.
See test plan from bug 27526.
Those 2 prefs must be tested:
* SubfieldsToAllowForRestrictedEditing
* SubfieldsToUseWhenPrefill
2. Batch modification
a. Fill some values, play with repeatable and regex.
Note that the behaviour in master was buggy, only the first value was modified by the regex:
* With subfield = "a | b"
1 value added with "new"
=> "new | b"
* With subfield = "a | b"
2 new fields "new1","new2"
=> "new2 | b"
Important note: For repeatable subfields, a regex will apply on the subfields in
the "concatenated form". To apply the regex on all the different subfields of a given
subfield code you must use the "g" modifier.
This could be improved later, but keep in mind that it's not a regression or behaviour
change.
b. Play with the "Populate fields with default values from default framework" checkbox
c. Use this tool to modify items and play with the different sysprefs that
interfer with it:
* NewItemsDefaultLocation
* SubfieldsToAllowForRestrictedBatchmod
* MaxItemsToDisplayForBatchMod
* MaxItemsToProcessForBatchMod
3. Batch deletion
a. Batch delete some items
b. Check items out and try to delete them
c. Use the "Delete records if no items remain" checkbox to delete
bibliographic records without remaining items.
d. Play with the following sysprefs and confirm that it works as
expected:
* MaxItemsToDisplayForBatchDel
e. Stress the tool: Go to the confirmation screen with items that can be
deleted, don't request the job to be processed right away, but check the
item out before.
4. Background job detail view
You must have seen it already if you are curious and tested the above.
When a new modification or deletion batch is requested, the confirmation
screen will tell you that the job has enqueued. A link to the progress
of the job can be followed.
On this screen you will be able to see the result of the job once it's
fully processed.
QA notes:
* There are some FIXME's that are not blocker in my opinion. Feel free to
discuss them if you have suggestions.
* Do we still need MaxItemsToProcessForBatchMod?
* Prior to this patchset we had a "Return to the cataloging module" link
if we went from the cataloguing module and that the biblio was deleted.
We cannot longer know if the biblio will be deleted but we could display
a "Go to the cataloging module" link on the "job has been enqueued"
screen regardless from where we were coming from.

This patch updates the html_helper for the cash register selection block
to remove the 'empty option' such that it can be correclty set for each
select case and updates all existing cases where we used the process
block previously to include the relevant blank option '-- Select an
option --', '-- None --', 'Library default' and finally the new '-- All
--' options introduced with this bug.

The hidden attribute for loading an element hidden is known to have
issues and inconsistencies accross browsers.
This patch instead updates the relevent input options to use an inline
style of 'display: none' to hide the elements on page load and then
.show, .hide for subsquent changes linked to the library branch picker
change.

the cash 'Cash register' select box is populated with '-- None --' and
you are required to select a register prior to submission
6/ Note that upon selection, the '-- None --' option is disabled
7/ Note that when you have a register associated with your session then
the 'Cash register' select box is pre-populated with that register.

This patch adds the ability to set a register for the current session
from the 'set library' page.
Upon entering the page, the current selection will be displayed.
Changing the branch will trigger the register select list to update to
display only those registers associated with the updated branch and will
automatically select either 'no register' or the 'branch default'
register. The user can then override that selection to choose a
different register for the session.
Test plan
1/ Enable cash registers with the 'UseCashRegisters' system preference
2/ Select the 'Set library' option from the top right menu
3/ Note that you can now select a cash register from the subsequent page
4/ Change the branch and note that the cash register selection is
updated to reflect the change
5/ Note that the 'branch default' register is auto-selected upon branch
selection if one has been defined, otherwise '-- None --' is selected
6/ You can then alter the selection before submitting the form
7/ Once submitted note that you are returned to the page you were on
prior to attempting to change the library and register
8/ Note the present of the register name next to the library name at the
top of the screen.
