What is a MARC Authority Record?
A MARC Authority Record are used to ensure consitency across catalog records by providing a way to define the standard form of names for:
- People (Authors, Editors, Publishers, Illustrators etc)
- Titles
- Subjects
- Organizations (Companies, Academic Instituites etc)
