2237e0f871 Bug 5404: C4::Koha - remove subfield_is_koha_internal_p
The commit b5ecefd485
Date: Mon Feb 3 18:46:00 2003 +0000

had a funny description:
Added function to check if a MARC subfield name is "koha-internal"
(instead of checking it for 'lib' and 'tag' everywhere); temporarily
added to Koha.pm

"Temporarily", since 2003, everything is relative, isn't it? :)

The thing is that GetMarcStructure returns hash like

field_200 => {
    subfield_a => {
        %attributes_of_subfield_a
    },
    %attributes_of_field_200
}

The attributes for field_200 can be 'repeatable', 'mandatory', 'tag', 'lib'.
We don't want to loop on these values when looping on subfields.
Since there are just { k => v } with v is a scalar (string), it's easier
to test if we are processing a subfield testing the reference.

At some places, we don't need to test that, we are looping on values
from MARC::Field->subfields which are always valid subfields.

Test plan:
1/ Edit items using the batch item mod tool
2/ display and edit items via the cataloguing module.

You should not see any changes between before and after the patch
applied.

Tech notes:
We need to check what we are processing when we loop on 'subfields' from
GetMarcStructure, not from MARC::Field->subfields.

0d8de48bf5 Bug 15072: Breadcrumbs and titles inconsistent in Label creator
This patch makes the page title and breadcrumbs more consistent.
It does so by removing some text (Manage...) and using Edit (id) and Create
on building both the breadcrumbs and titles.

To test:
- Traverse all the Label creator options
=> FAIL: the texts are not consistent and don't match what we use in the patron card creator.
- Apply the patch
=> SUCCESS: Terminology is consistent, titles and breadcrumbs show the same information
- Sign off :-D

05d4c0e69b Bug 12194: Add option 'Oblique title' in labels
This patch adds a checkbox on Label creator
to use or not an oblique variant of main font
for title

Also fix font selection for title in case an
oblique variant is used.

To test:
Before patch
1) Go to Tools > Label creator
2) Create a new layout, default values but select
any 'Oblique' variant for main font and
'Biblio/Barcode' for layout type
3) Go to Manage batches, create a batch, add items,
export PDF, download
4) Check logs, you must find a line with
'ERROR in koha-conf.xml -- missing <font type="COO">'
for example if main font Courier-Oblique

5) Open PDF, title could be right but not using selected font

After patch
6) Apply the patch
7) Run updatedatabase.pl
8) Repeat 1-2, note new checkbox 'Oblique title',
default checked
9) Repeat export, no new warnings on log
10) Create a new layout or edit an existent one,
uncheck 'Oblique title', save, export again
Check PDF has non slanted title

Followed test plan, works as expected. (See comment #11).

fa99f75bdc Bug 14667: UI/UX improvements for the Label creator
Note: It would be good to adopt these same changes in the Patron Card creator for consistency and push
them in conjunction with these changes. -Chris_n

Reasoning

Librarians will be doing label things in the following frequencies, from most frequent to least frequent:
1. Creating new label batches - every day/every few days
2. Managing existing label batches - every day/every few days
3. Managing existing label layouts - as needed, infrequent
5. Managing existing label templates - as needed, infrequent
6. Creating new label layouts - as needed, infrequent
7. Creating new label templates - as needed, infrequent
8. Managing existing printer profiles - possibly once only!
9. Creating new printer profiles - possibly once only!

This change to the label creator aims to make the most frequently used items easily accessible at the top of the main area,
reduces clutter on the page, and makes the label creator fall in line with UI paradigms found elsewhere in Koha.

To test:

Open the label creator: More -> Tools -> Label creator
Note that the toolbar has changed. It should be consistent across all of the label creator (it is an include).

+ New menu:

Label batch
1. make sure it looks ok - toolbar buttons are consistent at the top of the main block.
2. add items both by barcode, and by search (note this patch does not touch the pop up window. Another day.)
3. note that the usual buttons have moved below the textarea, and now have icons.
4. delete and export single items using the buttons corresponding to each item
5. select multiple and use the buttons above the table to remove and export selected items
6. export a full batch
7. deduplicate a batch
There should be no regressions in functionality.

Layout
1. This menu item should take you directly to the "Edit layout" screen.
2. no functional changes here.
3. note toolbar at top is consistent

Label template
1. this menu item should take you directly to the "Edit label template" page.
2. no functional changes here.
3. note toolbar at top is consistent.

Printer profile
1. this menu item should take you directly to the "Edit printer profile" page.
2. no functional changes here.
3. note toolbar at top is consistent.

+ Manage menu:

Label batches
1. This menu item should take you directly to the "currently available batches" page.
2. select a batch to edit using the buttons
3. select a batch to delete using the buttons - it should ask for confirm.
4. select several batches using the tickboxes, and select Export selected. Batches should be exported as normal.
5. note toolbar at top is consistent.

Layouts
1. This menu item should take you directly to the "currently available layouts" page.
2. select a layout to edit using the buttons
3. select a layout to delete using the buttons
4. note toolbar at top is consistent.

Label templates
1. This menu item should take you directly to the "currently available templates" page.
2. select a template to edit using the buttons
3. select a template to delete using the buttons
4. note toolbar at top is consistent.

Printer profiles
1. This menu item should take you directly to the "currently available profiles" page.
2. select a profile to edit using the buttons
3. select a profile to delete using the buttons
4. note toolbar at top is consistent

+ General
* note that sidebar now only has "labels home" instead of the full "manage" list. It seemed redundant with the toolbar tidied up.

Please note that I am happy to take suggestions/amendments to these changes.

a8a9c7b7fd Bug 14739: Add several patrons to a new batch will create a new batch per patron added
This patch changes the functionality of adding patrons to patroncard batches. Instead of using only the patron search, there is now a textarea which can either be manually populated with borrowernumbers, or can be populated using the patron-search

To test:
1 - Create a new patron batch
2 - Click the add items button, if there is no data in the borrowrnumber form you should get a popup
3 - Add items to batch using the popup, borrowernumbers should populate to the form
4 - Click add items again and items should be added to a new batch
5 - Create a new batch
6 - Manually enter invalid borrowernumbers to the form
7 - Click add items, batch should return empty
8 - Manually enter valid borrowernumber
9 - Click add items, batch should be updated
10 - Edit an existing batch and confirm add items works as above
11 - Create a new label batch
12 - Click add items with no data, popup item search should appear
13 - Adding items by checking boxes or using 'Add' button - they should populate the text box on the edit batch page
14 - When adding using form the 'Enter by itemnumber' button should be marked automatically
15 - Submit items and confirm they are added to batch
16 - Create a new batch, enter by barcode manually and check 'Enter by itemnumber"
17 - Click add items, no items should be added
18 - Repopulate form with barcodes, check 'Enter by barcode'
19 - Click add items, items should be added correctly
20 - Test various combinations of radio buttons and numbers and using form or not

1f0ff90360 Bug 11880: Select what has been selected before
The previous patch wants to select the barcode option when the user is
on the item search for label, in all cases.
So even if 'title' is selected, a search done, and there is no result,
the barcode index is selected anyway.
In this case, the title option should be kept.

Test plan:
Confirm that the barcode option is the default choice, but other values
are kept if the search does not return any result.

Followed test plan, behaves as expected. Tested with all choices.

dedd059ac0 Bug 12911: batch_id for new labels batches can be asssigned to several batches
Currently batch_id is assigned upon creation of a new batch object. This patch leaves batch_id as 0 at creation and adds a check when adding items. If batch is new then batch_id is created then

Test plan:
1 -In one browser window, go to tools->label creator and click the new batch button
2 - Before adding items, open a new browser, and go tools->label creator and click the new batch button
3 - Note that both batches have the same number listed
4 - Add an item to the first batch - you should now see one item in the batch
5 - Add an item to the second batch, you should see two items in the batch
6 - Apply patch and repeat steps 1&2
7 - Note that neither batch lists a batch number
8 - Add an item to the first batch, you should see one item and a batch number
9 - Add an item to the second batch, you should see one item and a new batch number

8e71489c33 Bug 8375: Use TrueType fonts in PDF::Reuse
Since built-in PDF fonts suport just Latin-1 encoding, we have
to switch to TrueType fonts to correctly encode all UTF-8 characters
(which we should be getting from database anyway).

This approach also nicely sidesteps our encoding cludges, but
requires paths to TrueType fonts which are included in koha-conf.xml
under new <ttf> section. Without this directive in kona-conf.xml
code will still use Latin-1 built-in pdf fonts.

daf2ebc4f5 Bug 11096: support the retrieval of large MARCXML records
This patch makes Koha <-> Zebra use MARCXML for the serialization when
using DOM, and USMARC for GRS-1.

* The following functions are modified to set the Zebra record syntax
according to the current sysprefs and configuration:

- C4::Context->Zconn
- C4::Context-_new_Zconn

* A new function 'new_record_from_zebra' is introduced, which checks the
context we are in, and creates the MARC::Record object using the right
constructor.

The following packages get touched to make use of the new function:
- C4::Search
- C4::AuthoritiesMarc

and the same happens to the UI scripts that make use of them (both in
the OPAC and STAFF interfaces).

* Calls to the unsafe ZOOM::Record->render()[1] method are removed.

Due to this last change the code for building facets was rewritten. And
for performance on the facets creation I pushed higher version
dependencies for MARC::File::XML and MARC::Record (we rely on
MARC::Field->as_string).

* Calls to MARC::Record->new_from_xml and MARC::Record->new_from_usmarc
are wrapped with eval for catching problems [2].

* As of bug 3087, UNIMARC uses the 'unimarc' record syntax. this case is
  correctly handled.
* As of bug 7818 misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl behaves like:

- bib_index_mode (defaults to 'grs1' if not specified)
- auth_index_mode (defaults to 'dom')

here we do exactly the same.

To test:
 - prove t/db_dependent/Search.t should pass.
 - Searching should remain functional.
 - Indexing and searching for a big record should work (that's what the
   unit tests do).
 - Test an index scan search (on the staff interface):
Search > More options > Check "Scan indexes".
 - Enable 'itemBarcodeFallbackSearch' and try to circulate any word, it
   shouldn't break.
 - Searching for a biblio in a new subscription shouldn't break.
 - Running bulkmarcimport.pl shouldn't break.
 - And so on... for the rest of the .pl files.

[1] http://search.cpan.org/~mirk/Net-Z3950-ZOOM/lib/ZOOM.pod#render()

69c42067ce Bug 11222: fix crash that can occur in search for items to add to label batch
This patch fixes a regression on label-item-search.pl introduced by
the patch for bug 9239 where searching for items to add to a label
batch fails with an error if QueryParser is not enabled and you use
the "Added on or before date" search option.

Test plan:

0) Set "UseQueryParser" to "do not try"
1) Start with an installation with bibliografic data and items
   information.
2) Check that in items there are values inside Accession Date

Without the patch:
a) Go in Home› Tools› Labels and click on 'New batch'
b) Click on 'Add Item(s)'
c) Try to select items with option "Added on or before date"
d) You will receive an error

With the patch:
Try steps a),b), and c)
Now you don't receive an error and you can select items

144c7f4e4e Bug 9239: Allow the use of QueryParser for all queries
With the inclusion of this patch, all searches will (try) to use
QueryParser for handling queries for both the bibliographic and authority
databases if UseQueryParser is enabled. If QueryParser is unavailable,
UseQueryParser is disabled, or the search uses CCL indexes, the old

c7ba7fa8b2 Bug 7615 - Give option to use description for homebranch/holding branch in label creator instead of the branchcode
This patch adds the ability to print the name of the item's homebranch on labels

Thanks to Shane Sammons <ssammons-at-npelem.com> for the modified SQL SELECT statement.

Document Manager: The documentation will need to be updated to reflect the added field 'branchname' to the list
of available fields for label printing.

To test:

1. Create a new label layout or modify an existing one to include 'branchname'
2. Create a new label batch or using an existing one, export the batch.
3. Verify that the resulting labels contain the home branch name for the respective items.

973371a68b Bug 6733: change branchcode call in Labels to use userenv instead of LoginBranchname
In the 5 places in the label editor, the user's current branch is determined by taking
the LoginBranchname and doing a reverse look up for the branchcode. This is an unnecessary
query, since C4::Context->userenv has the immediate access to the branchcode; this is how
it's summoned in all other points in the Koha code.

This addresses bug 6673 because, since the move to T:T, the call in tools/manage-marc-import.pl
has used in correct syntax: $template->param('LoginBranchname') instead of $template->{VARS}->param('LoginBranchname')

a46714b1d7 Bug 3706 Label templates/layouts do not save properly
Two issues here:

1. No radio box was selected by default in the format section of the layout editor. This actually needs some additional attention to allow the user
to establish a default method of entering the format string. As noted in comments in the code, this would probably be best implimented by adding yet
another syspref. However, I don't have time atm.

2. On saving a new template, if no profile was assigned to the new template, the script threw an error and died.

Both issues are addressed in this patch.

As discussed with Chris Nighswonger on #koha, this patch
removes the calls to syslog and replaces them with warns
so that error messages generated by the labels code

this sort of logging across multiple files and is consistent

d1e03bbf11 Bug 3390 Enabling ZIP compression in pdf generation to reduce file size
Enabling compression gives a ~26% *reduction* over non-compressed Type 3 font embedding.
ie. 4.5 K/pg (compressed graphic) vs. 17.5 K/pg (uncompressed Type 3 font) vs 111 K/pg
(uncompressed graphic).

It also appears that most other applications that export in pdf use compression by
default. (OO Writer, etc.) So this approach appears justified. One could always add code
to allow the user to select embedding mode and compression.
