b36269ea85 Bug 3056 - replace span hacking for terms in C4::Search
Reimplemented using jquery, added OSS plugin to both interfaces. This is
another case where having a /common directory used by both OPAC and STAFF
would increase runtime efficiency and cut development time.

Removed unused variables.

I changed the OPAC .term color to match the staff interface, rather than being a
second shade of blue. The highlight/unhighlight link is currently a bit bolder
than its neighbors, but my styling choices are provisional. I expect the final
tweaking of CSS to come from another more capable designer, like Owen.

Note this patch may rely on previously submitted "Search.pm minor cleanup" patch.

3ed41a2cfc Revert "Bug 3226 - Extended characters inconsistantly displayed"
This reverts commit 7a3bdce23d.

Even though patches were submitted that fixed the breakage
that this commit caused to NoZebra searchs, it turns out
this breaks code that uses SimpleSearch - clients of that
routine currently expect ISO2709 blobs, not MARCXML.

No further patches for 3226 will be pushed until a complete,
comprehensive patchset is submitted that (a) includes a
test case for the original bug and (b) demonstrates that
it doesn't break any aspect of bibliographic and authority
searching.

492759e5f2 Fix for Bug 2599 - Search limits not working for NoZebra
Adds the change suggested by Amer Denni to fix Bug 2599
in comment #7 at:

http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=2599

For UNIMARC installations, this patch only works after
updating the "NoZebraIndexes" system preference to
UNIMARC indexes (by default, NoZebraIndexes is being
wrongly set to MARC21 values in UNIMARC installations).

That has also been reported as a Bug, by me (see Bug 2178):

with conditional use of "next":

This reduces the number of unnecessarily nested blocks, and the

3d65e44d5c Syndetics and Amazon bugfix enhancements
This patch resolves a number of problems related to Enhanced Content:

1. Previously, there was no syspref for controlling whether or not to display
Amazon.com cover images apart from other content. This had the side effect
of preventing use of amazon.com content alongside use of another provider's
images. This patch introduces AmazonCoverImages and OPACAmazonCoverImages,
and changes the name of AmazonContent to AmazonEnabled.

So, for instance, you can now enable OPACAmazonSimilarItems yet utilize
SyndeticsCoverImages for displaying those similar items.

NOTE TO DOCUMENTATION TEAM: please update references to AmazonContent
and OPACAmazonContent to comply with the above.

2. Fixes some semantically incorrect uses of AmazonContent (now OPACAmazonEnabled)
on the OPAC side.

3. Resolves once and for all, the normalization of ISBN,UPC,EAN and OCLC numbers
for all enhanced content elements; These elements can be normalized using the
new functions in C4::Koha; I've replaced use of the various previously used
variables $xisbn,$norm_isbn,$clean_isbn, etc with $isbn, and the template
variable normalized_isbn.

We finally have a single, consistant place to retrieve normalize values for
these fields given a particular record.

4. Adds Syndetics attribution statements to display of all Syndetics content
'enhanced content provide by Syndetics' or 'Enhanced Description from Syndetics'

5. Adds an option to view the large cover image on the detail page on the OPAC
when using SyndeticsCoverImages; this option is controlled by a new system
preference: SyndeticsCoverImageSize which has two values: MC (medium) LC (large)

6. Adds UPC and OCLC numbers for Syndetics enhanced content queries especially
helpful for finding enhanced content for DVD and Music materials

7. Adds capability to display Syndetics images to opac-user for checkouts and overdues

8. Updates to systempreferences.sql, and updatedatabase.pl database revision 015

4c55cc220f reduce bib fetches during search and OPAC display
Speed up bib search and OPAC bib display, especially
when the XSLT OPAC results and details display sysprefs are
ON, by passing an existing MARC::Record object to three
functions:

C4::Biblio::get_biblio_authorised_values()
C4::XSLT::XSLTParse4Display()
C4::XSLT::transformMARCXML4XSLT (internal)

These functions previously fetched the bib from the
database, incurring the cost of DB retrieval and MARCXML
parsing even though client code already had a
MARC::Record object available.

66c420c3d0 bug 1980: updateing calls to SimpleSearch to limit number of things returned
C4::Search::SimpleSearch was alredy patched to let you pass in the number of results you want back.
These instances were not using the new API. This patch makes all calls to SimpleSearch specify a limit.

I improved the documentation of SimpleSearch a bit to include the third returned value.

I believe there's a bug in C4::Output::pagination_bar, in that it doesn't deal well with URLs
with only one pair of parameter=value passed to it. I'm getting around this by passing in a second
pair that does nothing.

556538e101 bug 2248 [2/2]: import item status display in search results
The in transit status now displays as such in the
OPAC search results. In the non-XSLT version, the status
is checked only for bibs having 20 or fewer items to avoid
extra hits on the database during result set presentation.
In the XSLT version, all items are checked.

Note that because an item's transfer status is not
stored in the MARC record, the transfer status
has no effect when limiting a search by item
availability. For a future version, the transit status
should be added to the Zebra index.

233a40f1d1 bug 2098: do not apply stemming if search term has digits
If a search contains a digit, it is almost certainly an identifier, and should
not be stemmed. This is particularly relevant for ISBNs and ISSNs, which
can contain the letter "X" - for example, C4::Search::_build_stemmend_operand
would reduce "014100018X" to "x ", which for a MARC21 database would bring
up irrelevant results (e.g., "23 x 29 cm." from the 300$c).

With this patch, supplying a search term that contains one or more digits
followed by "X" will no longer retrieve irrelevant results. This applies
to catalogs using Zebra and query stemming.

af14b082e4 kohabug 2225 - fix resource leak in SimpleSearch
Explicitly destroy ZOOM Query and ResultSet objects created
in C4::Search::SimpleSearch() - for long-running users
of SimpleSearch, such as link_bibs_to_authorities.pl or
the matcher used by the staging MARC import, the failure
to do this causes a memory leak in both the client Perl
script and (in the case of ZOOM ResultSet objects) a
corresponding resource leak in zebrasrv for the life
of the Z39.50 connection.

With this change, link_bibs_to_authorities.pl will be
be able to process large bib datasets without leaking

496b6c8ef4 bugfix - fix 'not' operator in NoZebra
Corrected bug that prevented the 'not' operator
from working consistently - i.e., a search of
'mice not men' would not always work.

Also added test cases for NoZebra, so far focusing on
NZanalyse and adding and deleting bibs. A couple of
the test cases are currently known to fail and
therefore are marked TODO. The tests in question
are to verify that rows in nozebra are removed if
no bib is linked to the relevant word. However, it
looks like such rows are retained, just with
nozebra.biblionubmers set to ''. Is there any
reason to keep these rows?

c6d507f8a9 kohabug 2020 - fix infinite loop in NoZebra on Perl 5.10
When running Koha in NoZebra mode under Perl 5.10, a search
containing a operator (e.g., "mice and men") could cause
a bib search to enter into an infinite loop in NZanalyse.

This possibility arises from the fact that NZanalyse used
to use capture variables from regular expressions without
verifying whether the regular expressions actually matched.
It was compounded by the fact that NZanalyse is recursive;
however, because $1, $2, etc. are dynamically scoped,
*they are not automatically cleared when NZanalyse calls
itself*.

Consequently, if the search string contains a boolean
operator, it would be split into

left = mice
operator = and
right = men

Then NZanalyse would be called recursively on the search
string 'mice'. However, because $1, $2, and $3 are not
automatically cleared when the function is called again,
and because they are not cleared if a match fails, the code
would fail to recognize that 'mice' is leaf, and would
call NZanalyse('mice') repeatedly, to the promotion of
warm server rooms.

The wrinkle in this is that because of a bug in Perl 5.8, a
failing matches can sometimes alter the capture variables, thus
avoiding the infinite recursion. However, this bug was fixed in
Perl 5.10, leading to the NZanalyse bug becoming evident.

The Perl bug is described at http://rt.perl.org/rt3/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=19049
and the fix http://public.activestate.com/cgi-bin/perlbrowse/p/29279.

The fix to the Koha code is to check whether each regexp
that uses capture variables matches or fails, then act
accordingly.

c1ae207d54 kohabug 1621 - add subtitle to main results and details pages
Including the subtitle in search results and OPAC and staff
details templates. The subtitle is expected to be in the
MARC subfield that is mapped to the (now nonexistant) column
bibliosubtitle.subtitle.

This is a fairly hackish patch that is meant to be minimally
disruptive while allowing subtitles to be displayed for those
not using the experimental XSLT bib display feature. It
does *not* cover all cases where you have a MARC
record and want to display its subtitle.

UNIMARC notes: at the moment, none of the fr-FR UNIMARC
frameworks appear to be map any subfields to bibliosubtitle.subtitle.
This could be changed, but caveat programmer: the UNIMARC 200$e
is repeatable (meaning that get_koha_field_from_marc will put in ' | '
between multiple subtitles) and one may want to also include the
200$d (parallel title). A GetMarcSubtitle routine may be in order
if absolutely necessary.

This points to a long-term need to make display of MARC (and later, hopefully,
non-MARC) bib records more flexible - the XSLT feature is one approach;
there may be others.

d92eb0373e experiment: use PazPar2 to group related works
The approach is to use PazPar2 to search just one
target, the biblio Zebra database. The results
of each set are merged by PazPar2 to generate a
hitlist that combines related bibs together; as an
example, if a library has the first Harry Potter
book in three languages and an audiobook format,
the hitlist should ideally return one result
for the work that includes links to the individual
bibs.

The new module C4::Search::PazPar2 implements a
simple client for PazPar2's XML-over-HTTP API. It is
designed to be generic, and thus may end up getting
moved out of Koha to become a stand-alone CPAN module.

b7c35853f2 item rework: do not allow bulkedit to update items
This patch is meant to guarantee that a bulkedit
does not try to edit an item tag embedded in a MARC
biblio without updating the items feature. It is
not a comprehensive fix of the bulkedit feature, which
currently does not appear to be functional and
needs some thought:

* The general search results is probably not the
best place to put this feature -- it should
  probably be in tools.
* A bulk edit of something like items is desireable,
but needs to be designed so that it respects
business logic for circulation and acquisitions.

5c23369af2 Fixing Database Definitions for Statuses *PARTIAL*
Prior to this fix, the status fields had three 'off' values, NULL, "",
and 0. I've reduced it to two in the db, removing the option for NULL, and
setting the default value to 0, however, we need to verify that we don't ever
write out as "" as this needlessly complicates the indexing process,
critical for searching or limiting by status (e.g., availability). Also,
queries that attempt to write a NULL value to one of these fields will fail
(based on my tests).

This patch includes the following changes:

* Updated the database definition for notforloan, damaged, itemlost, and
wthdrawn in kohastructure.sql to forbid NULL and default to 0; MySQL
can't forbid other values (such as empty ""), so this has to be handled
at the application layer and REQUIRES further patching.

* Fixed the 'limit by availability' query node in Search.pm to use a
much less confusing definition of 'available'

* Added code to set values to 0 where they are NULL or empty ( "" ) for
notforloan, damaged, itemlost or wthdrawn in both the MARC and the items
table:

  * Biblio.pm -> AddBiblioAndItems
  * catalogue/updateitem.pl
  * SEE NOTE BELOW, REQUIRES UPDATE TO THE REST OF KOHA'S ITEM MGT!

* Removed code in bulkmarcimport.pl that sets notforloan status depending
on item-level or bib-level itemtype -- that flag is designed to be set
only to override the notforloan setting for the item's (or bib's,
depending on the syspref) assigned itemtype (it doesn't need to override
to 'for loan', only to 'not for loan').

added $dbh->do("truncate zebraqueue"); when operation is 'delete'

* I updated some notes in catalogue/updateitem.pl as to why ModItem can't be
used -- we don't have _a_ place where we can change the item and marc :/

  I've tested the following:

  bulkmarcimport.pl..........................MARC/items OK
  Staged Records Import......................NOT OK
  updateitem.pl (via moredetail.pl)..........MARC/items OK
  circulation.pl.............................NOT OK
  returns.pl.................................NOT OK
  addbiblio.pl...............................NOT OK
  additem.pl.................................NOT OK

Basically, there isn't a single place to apply this patch that will
update both item data and MARC data in one place ... a future patch
needs to address this issue.

3a9c0efda8 dealing with >=, <= and date stuff in NoZebra
- if the user search on >= or <=, fix a bug removing the < and >
- if the user search on a numeric value (mainly for dates search), retrieve only numeric results

Example : previously Date >=2005 returned "printed in 1976", as "printed" was > than 2005
now it don't.
note that Date >=1900 returns "printed in 1976" as NZ search is a always wrdl search (and, as you know 1976 > 1900 ;-) )

af466ca41a start of reworking call number handling and other Biblio changes
Most of this commit by Joshua Ferraro.
updatedatabase changes by Galen Charlton.

Major changes:

This commit includes a lot of fairly major changes
to Koha's Biblio handling, largest is the addition
and deletion of several columns in the biblioitems,
items tables, as well as cleanup of deletedbiblioitems,
deleteditems tables. Some of the changes are simple
cleanup, but most have to do with improvements to
storage of call numbers in Koha.

Also, I had to clean up the _koha_* routines quite a
lot to make them work -- there was lots of data just
being lost because columns weren't being updated.

I'm still not completely convinced that the items
table is being treated as authoritative for items
data, investigating further.

DB Changes (updated in kohastructure.sql and in
updatedatabases):

ADDED:
biblioitems.cn_source ( auth value, CN_SOURCE, stores the source of the
call number: DDC, LCC, NLM, etc.)
biblioitems.cn_class ( plugin, marc21_callnumber.pl, helps fill in
the rest of the biblio-level fields)
biblioitems.cn_item
biblioitems.cn_suffix
biblioitems.cn_sort ( for zebra sorting, stored as a decimal number)
biblioitems.totalissues ( for counting the total times issued )

items.cn_source ( auth value, CN_SOURCE, stores DDC, LCC, NLM, etc.)
items.itemcallnumber ( plugin, marc21_itemcallnumber.pl, helps fill in
the itemcallnumber based on the record data )
items.cn_sort ( for zebra sorting, stored as a decimal number)
items.ccode ( auth value, CCODE, stores the Collection Code
of the item, can be used as call number prefix
                          by some libraries )
items.uri
items.materials
items.damaged

DELETED:
items.itype
items.cutterextra
biblioitems.classification
biblioitems.subclass
biblioitems.dewey
biblioitems.lcsort
biblioitems.lccn
biblioitems.ccode

DB version now 3.00.00.009.

Minor changes:

* Drop revision history from C4/Biblio.pm
* GetMarcAuthors now returns additional authors (7XX), not
  main authors (1XX)
* Debug warnings in C4/Search.pm commented out

- notforloan as itemtype was not properly managed : an itemtype that was notforloan resulted in nothing in detail. Not, the user can't place a reserve anymore, and the status is correctly displayed

345eaeb725 Bugfix for empty words
The \b consider only ASCCI as letter. So diacritics are considered as non word.
and a word like leçon is splitted in 2, "le" is empty word, and the search is done
on çon (which is not french [1], so has no result)

[1] con (without the cedilla) is a french word, but I won't tell you what it means...
anyway, there are probably no "con" in most catalogues ;-)

a3a4bfc5e6 IMPROVEMENT : reintroducing stopwords management
Zebra (and NoZebra) doesn't deal with stopwords.
It search the exact string the user types.
This commit :
- reintroduces stopword management script that was in 2.2
- add stopword management to Zebra & NoZebra searches.

PS : fortunatly, the stopwords table was not removed by updatedatabase, so nothing to do here.

3e85c9e97f NoZebra SQL index management :
* adding 3 subs in Biblio.pm
- GetNoZebraIndexes, that get the index structure in a new systempreference (added with this commit)
- _DelBiblioNoZebra, that retrieve all index entries for a biblio and remove in a variable the biblio reference
- _AddBiblioNoZebra, that add index entries for a biblio.
Note that the 2 _Add and _Del subs work only in a hash variable, to speed up things in case of a modif (ie : delete+add). The effective SQL update is done in the ModZebra sub (that existed before, and dealed with zebra index).
I think the code has to be more deeply tested, but it works at least partially.

4213b6ec98 improving NOzebra search :
- changing nozebra table to have biblionumber,title-ranking; (; is the entry separator. Now, if a value is several times in an index, it is stored only once, with a higher ranking (the ranking is the number of times the word appeard for this index)
- improving search to have ranking value (default order). The ranking is the sum of ranking of all terms. The list is ordered by ranking+title, from most to lower

b53be9cdaf Koha 3.0 nozebra 1st commit : the script misc/migration_tools/rebuild_nozebra.pl build the nozebra table, and, if you set NoZebra to Yes, queries will be done through zebra. TODO :
- add nozebra table management on biblio editing
- the index table content is hardcoded. I still have to add some specific systempref to let the library update it
- manage pagination (next/previous)
- manage facets
WHAT works :
- NZgetRecords : has exactly the same API & returns as zebra getQuery, except that some parameters are unused
- search & sort works quite good
- CQL parser is better that what I thought I could do : title="harry and sally" and publicationyear>2000 not itemtype=LIVR should work fine

26543b430e really proud of this commit :-)
z3950 search and import seems to works fine.
Let me explain how :
* a "search z3950" button is added in the addbiblio template.
* when clicked, a popup appears and z3950/search.pl is called
* z3950/search.pl calls addz3950search in the DB
* the z3950 daemon retrieve the records and stores them in z3950results AND in marc_breeding table.
* as long as there as searches pending, the popup auto refresh every 2 seconds, and says how many searches are pending.
* when the user clicks on a z3950 result => the parent popup is called with the requested biblio, and auto-filled

Note :
* character encoding support : (It's a nightmare...) In the z3950servers table, a "encoding" column has been added. You can put "UNIMARC" or "USMARC" in this column. Depending on this, the char_decode in C4::Biblio.pm replaces marc-char-encode by an iso 8859-1 encoding. Note that in the breeding import this value has been added too, for a better support.
* the marc_breeding and z3950* tables have been modified : they have an encoding column and the random z3950 number is stored too for convenience => it's the key I use to list only requested biblios in the popup.
