This is the fourth and last patch set to remove C4::Branch.
The real purpose of this patch is to standardise and refactor some code
which is related to the libraries selection/display.
Its unconfessed purpose is to remove the C4::Branch package.
Before this patch set, only 6 subroutines still existed in the C4::Branch
package:
- GetBranchName
- GetBranchesLoop
- mybranch
- onlymine
- GetBranches
- GetBranch
GetBranchName basically returns the branchname for a given branchcode.
The branchname is only used for a display purpose and we don't need to
retrieve it in package or pl scripts (unless for a few exceptions).
We have a `Branches` template plugin with a `GetName` method which does
exactly this job.
To achieve this removal, we will use this template plugin and delete the
GetBranchName from pl and pm files.
The `Branches.all()` will now select the library of the logged in user
if no `selected` parameter has been passed.
This new behavior could cause regressions, for instance there are some
places where we do not want an option preselected (batch item
modification for instance), keep that in mind when testing.
GetBranchesLoop took 3 parameters: $branch and $onlymine.
The first one was used to set a "selected" flag, for a display purpose:
select an option in the libraries dropdown lists.
The second one was useless: If not passed or set to 0, the
`C4::Branch::onlymine` subroutine was called.
This onlymine flag was use to know if the logged in user was able to see
other libraries infos.
A patron can see the infos from other libraries if IndependentBranches
is not set OR if he has the superlibrarian permission.
Prior to this patch set, the "onlymine test" was done on different
places (neworderempty.pl, additem.pl, holidays.pl, etc.), including the
Branches TT plugin. In this patch set, this test is only done on one
place (C4::Context::only_my_library, code moved from
C4::Branch::onlymine).
To accomplish the same job as this subroutine, we just need to call the
`Branches.all()` method from the `Branches` TT plugin. It already
accepts a `selected` parameter to set a flag on the option to select.
To avoid the repetitive
[% IF selected %]<option selected="selected">[% ELSE %]<option>[% END %]
pattern, a new `html_helpers` TT include file has been created, it
defines an `options_for_libraries` block, which takes a `selected`
parameter. We could imagine to use this include file for other
selects.
The 'mybranch` and `onlymine` subroutines of the C4::Branch package have
been moved to C4::Context. onlymine has been renamed with
only_my_library. There are only 4 occurrences of it, against 11 before
this patch set.
There 2 subroutines are Context-centric and it makes sense to put them
in `C4::Context` (at least it's the least worst place!)
GetBranches is the tricky part of this patch set: It retrieves all the
libraries, independently of the value of IndependentBranches.
To keep the same way as the existing calls of `Branches.all()`, I have
added a `unfiltered` parameter. If set, the `Branches.all()` will call
a usual Koha::Libraries->search method, otherwise
Koha::Libraries->search_filtered will be called. This new method will
check if the logged in user is allowed to see other libraries or only
its library.
Note that this `GetBranches` subroutine also created a `category` key:
it allowed to get the list of groups (of libraries) where this library
existed. Thanks to a previous patch set (bug 15295), this value was
not used anymore (I may have missed something!).
Note that the only use of `GetBranch` was buggy (see bug 15746).
Test plan (for the whole patch set):
The best way to test this whole patch set is to test with 2 instances: 1
with the patch set applied, 1 using master, to be sure there is no
regression.
It would be good to test the same with `IndependentBranches` and the
without `IndependentBranches`.
No difference should be found.
The tester must focus on the library dropdowns on as many forms as
possible.
You will notice changes in the order of the options: the libraries will
now be ordered by branchname (instead of branchcode in some places).
A special attention will be given to the following page:
- acqui/neworderempty.pl
- catalogue/search.pl
- members/members-home.pl (header?)
- opac/opac-topissues.pl
- tools/holidays.pl
- admin/branch_transfer_limits.pl
- admin/item_circulation_alerts.pl
- rotating_collections/transferCollection.pl
- suggestion/suggestion.pl
- tools/export.pl
Notes for QA:
- There are 2 FIXMEs in the patch set, I have kept the existing behavior,
but I am not sure it's the good one. Feel free to open a bug report and
I will fill a patch if you think it's not correct. Otherwise, remove the
FIXME lines in a follow-up patch.
- The whole patch set is huge and makes a lot of changes.
But it finally will tremendously reduce the number of lines:

This unnecessary complicated subroutine returned an arrayref and an
hashref of the patron categories available for the logged in user, for a given
category_type, ordered by categorycode.
This can now be done with the search_limited method.
Test plan:
- Same prerequisite as before
For the following pages, you should not see patron categories limited to other
libraries. They should be ordered as before this patch, by categorycode.
- Add/edit a patron, change his/her patron category value.
- On the 3 following reports:
reports/bor_issues_top.pl
reports/borrowers_out.pl
reports/cat_issues_top.pl
The display for these 3 reports are different than the 2 from the first
patch (borrowers_stats.pl issues_avg_stats.pl): they are ordered by
categorycode and the ones limited to other libraries are not displayed
(should certainly be fixed).

The purpose of C4::Members::GetBorrowercategory was to return the patron
category for a given categorycode. This can be done easily with the
Koha::Patron::Categories->find method.
Test plan:
- Same prerequisite as before
- Edit a guarantor and confirm the information will be updated for his/her
guarantee(s).
- Update a child to adult patron (Note: Should not we hide the patron
categories limited to others libraries? If yes, it must be done on another
bug report).
There is a special behavior if there is only 1 adult category, the
user does not need to select a category. So the same as before with
only 1 adult patron category.
- Import a patron with a category_code which does not exist. You should
be warned.
- Modify some patron using the batch patron modification tool. The
patron category descriptions should correctly be displayed.
Note that the overduerules page has already been tested in a previous
patch.

categories available for the logged in user.
The new method Koha::Patron::Categories->search_limited does exactly the
same thing (see tests) and must be used in place of it.
Test plan:
- Same prerequisite as before
For the following pages, you should not see patron categories limited to
other libraries.
- On the 'Item circulation alerts' admin page
(admin/item_circulation_alerts.pl), modify the settings for check-in
and checkout (NOTE: Should not we display all patron categories on
this page? If yes, it must be done in another bug report to ease
backporting it).
- Search for patrons in the admin (budget) and acquisition (order) module.
- On the patron home page (search form in the header)

We need to define several namespaces for our cache system.
For instance sysprefs, koha conf (koha-conf.xml) and unit tests
should be defined in a separate namespace.
This will permit to
- launch the tests without interfering with other cache values
- and flush the sysprefs cache without flushing all other values
To do so, we need to store different Koha::Cache objects at a package
level. That's why this patch adds a new Koha::Caches module.

Move calls to WWW::CSRF to Koha::Token.
Send a safe random string to WWW::CSRF instead of letting CSRF make a

Creating a new patron category raises an error "An error occurred when updating
this patron category. Perhaps it already exists."
DBIx::Class does not default to the value defined at the DB devel if the
key checkprevcheckout has been passed to the constructor.
We may need to provide a global fix for this kind of issue: if a column
is defined as "not null" but has a default value, the constructor
(Koha::Object->new) should not pass it to the DBIx::Class constructor
(even if assuming that null means default is a terrible mysqlism).

When the auth_header table has records which exclude 1xx and

1) Go to Tools -> Staged MARC Management and clean a file. If you have no files to clean, go to 'Stage MARC for import' and upload one to clean following the necessary steps.
2) Confirm that once the file has been cleaned, the Action column now shows a Delete button. Confirm this button only shows for cleaned files.
3) Click the Delete button.
4) Confirm that clicking Cancel exits the pop-up message and does not delete the file.
5) Confirm that clicking OK refreshes the list of staged records and the one you just deleted is no longer on it (has been deleted). You can confirm this by checking for the file in mysql (SELECT * FROM import_batches WHERE import_batch_id = X;)
6) Run prove -v t/db_dependent/ImportBatch.t (have written unit tests for CleanBatch and DeleteBatch)

New feature: provide granular means to configure warnings about items
that have been issued to a particular borrower before, according to
their checkout history.
- Global syspref ('CheckPrevCheckout'), set to 'hardno' by default,
allows users to enable this feature library wide.
- Per patron category pref allows libraries to create overrides per
category, falling back on the global setting by default.
- Per patron pref allows switching the functionality on at the level
of patron. Fall-back to category settings by default.
* Koha/Patron (wantsCheckPrevCheckout, doCheckPrevCheckout): New
methods.
* C4/Circulation.pm (CanBookBeIssued): Introduce CheckPrevCheckout
check.
* admin/categories.pl: Pass along checkprevcheckout.
* koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/admin/categories.tt: Expose

Expose CheckPrevCheckout syspref.
* koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/members/memberentrygen.tt:

* installer/data/mysql/sysprefs.sql: Add 'CheckPrevCheckout'.
* installer/data/mysql/atomicupdate/checkPrevCheckout.sql: New file.
* t/db_dependent/Patron/CheckPrevCheckout.t: New file with unit tests.
Test plan:
- Apply patch.
- Run updatedatabase.
- Regenerate Koha Schema files.
- Run the unit tests.
- Verify 'CheckPrevCheckout' is visible in Patrons sysprefs and can be
switched to 'hardyes', 'softyes', 'softno' and 'hardno'.
+ Check out previously checked out items to a patron, checking the
message appears as expected.
- Verify no 'Check previous checkouts' setting appears on the borrower
category pages if the syspref is set to a 'hard' option.
- Verify 'Check previous checkouts' setting appears on the borrower
category pages and can be modified per borrower category.
+ Issue previously issued items to a borrower, checking the message
appears as expected (This setting should override the default
setting if that is set to a 'soft' option).
- Verify no 'Check previous checkouts' setting appears on the individual
borrower pages if the syspref is set to a 'hard' option.
- Verify 'Check previous checkouts' setting appears on individual
borrower pages and can be modified.
+ Issue previously issued items to a borrower, checking the message

The marc subfield structure is currently cached using a global variable
of C4::Context. The infos are retrieved every time a new context is
created.
This patch suggests to use Koha::Cache instead.
To achieve this goal, a new subroutine is created
C4::Biblio::GetMarcSubfieldStructure, it will be called from code which
needs to get the marc subfield structure. GetMarcFromKohaField,
GetMarcSubfieldStructureFromKohaField, TransformKohaToMarc and
_get_inverted_marc_field_map are modified accordingly and the cache is cleared
when the table is updated (from the 3 pl scripts modified by this patch).
The caching done in C4::Context (marcfromkohafield) is removed.
Test plan:
Play with the marc subfield structure (in the administration module),
then add and edit records and make sure everything went fine.

This patch answers Jonathan's request to simplify this patchset a bit.
It removes the need for the .sql file, as _default_rule now defaults to
a fixed value (1, which was set by the removed .sql file).
This allowed to remove the overloaded ->delete method.
The tests have been adjusted to reflect this changes, including tests for
the new 'default'-if-absent situation.

If you run Plugin.t, the above table will still be present (when you
did not enable UseKohaPlugins). This would trigger a warning when
running the test a second time.
Why? The uninstall call does its work not completely due to a small
inconsistency in Koha::Plugins::Handler::delete when calling run
without the enable_plugins parameter.
This patch resolves that inconsistency and also removes an unneeded skip
in Plugin.t in case the KitchenSink module already exists.
Note: This is a small fix. But I wonder if the Handler routines run and
delete should not have been implemented in Koha::Plugins::Base.
Also note that plugins/plugins-uninstall.pl will not be affacted by this
change, since it checks whether the pref is enabled before calling the
delete method.

Bug 14507 introduced the use of checkpw in C4::SIP::ILS::Patron so that
non-Koha internal authentication processes would be able to function via
SIP ( LDAP et al ).
The problem is that checkpw changes the userenv to that of the patron!
This is not usually an issue in Koha because most of the time that
patron running through checkpw is the one to be logged in.
Aside from SIP2 the only other area where this may be an issue is in SCO
when using SelfCheckoutByLogin.
Test Plan:
1) On master, check out an item to a patron via SIP2
2) Note the checkout lists the item as having been checked out
from the patron's home library not matter which library is was
supposed to be checked out from.
3) Apply this patch
4) Re-checkout the item
5) The item should now be checked out as if it was checked out from
the library as defined in the SIP configuration file.

Rather than add/remove regular expressions to skip modules (like bug 9054), encapsulate the decision logic into a separate function.
Currently there are three libraries which trigger halts:
Koha::NorwegianDB (which was already there)
Koha::ElasticSearch::Indexer
Koha::SearchEngine::Elasticsearch::Search
TEST PLAN
---------
1) prove t/00-load.t
-- should barf horribly on Catmandu stuff
if not: sudo apt-get remove libcatmandu-marc-perl
then repeat step.
2) apply patch
3) prove t/00-load.t
-- should not barf horribly
4) run koha qa test tools
NOTE: The four optional modules for Koha::NorwegianDB are
listed in the PerlDependencies.pm, while there is
no mention of Catmandu libraries at all there.
This may be another bug which needs fixing.
TECH NOTES (for ideas of how to tinker around):
These three things should trigger the three module cases:
sudo apt-get remove libcatmandu-marc-perl
sudo apt-get remove libcatmandu-store-elasticsearch-perl
sudo apt-get remove libconvert-basen-perl
You probably had koha-perldeps installed before, so the following wil mostly fix:
sudo apt-get install koha-perldeps libcatmandu-marc-perl
And in case you didn't have elastic search stuff installed:
echo deb http://packages.elastic.co/elasticsearch/1.7/debian stable main | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/elasticsearch.list
wget -O- https://packages.elastic.co/GPG-KEY-elasticsearch | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
cd ~
wget http://debian.koha-community.org/koha/otherthings/elasticsearch_deps.tar.gz
tar xvf elasticsearch_deps.tar.gz
cd es_deps
sudo dpkg i lib*
sudo apt-get install -f

The goal of this patch is to avoid unecessary flush of the L1 cache on
creating a new CGI object each time C4::Languages::getlanguage is called
without a CGI object.
The new class Koha::Cache::Memory::Lite must be flushed by the CGI
constructor overide done in the psgi file. This new class will ease
caching of specific stuffs used by running script.
Test plan:
At the OPAC and the intranet interfaces:
Open 2 different browser session to simulate several users
- Clear the cookies of the browsers
- User 1 (U1) an User 2 (U2) should be set to the default language
(depending on the browser settings)
- U1 chooses another language
- U2 refreshes and the language used must be the default one
- U2 chooses a third language
- U1 refreshes and must be still using the one he has choosen.
Try to use a language which is not defined:
Add &language=es-ES (if es-ES is not translated) to the url, you should
not see the Spanish interface.

of overduerules_transport_type and userpermission.)

The number of tests using TestBuilder is gradually growing. Once you
are familiar with its use, you will appreciate it and find yourself
using it when writing new tests. Although it works quite well, some details
still needs some polishing.
While looking at the handling of composite keys in TestBuilder, a number
of related points came up too. This patch finally ended up in setting
the following design goals:
[1] TB should not only look at the first column of a composite FK.
[2] TB should optionally create records for fixed FK values.
[3] TB should create a new record, never change an existing record.
[4] TB should respect auto_increment columns.
[5] Passing a hash for a foreign key should always imply a new record.
[6] Explicitly passing undef for a column should mean NULL.
[7] Add a delete method; it will replace the clear method.
[8] Simplify by removing $default_values, hash key _fk and param only_fk.
The comments below further clarify these points. Note that they refer to
the old behavior (before this patch) unless stated otherwise.
Comments for point 1
====================
Look at:
$builder->build({
source => 'UserPermission',
value => {
borrowernumber => $borrowerno,
module_bit => { flag => 'my flag' },
code => 'will_be_ignored',
},
});
Module_bit and code here are a composite FK to permissions.
TB ignores the value for the code column here and creates a record with a
randomized code.
But if we would pass the hash in the second column of this compound key like:
borrowernumber => $borrowerno,
module_bit => 10,
code => { code => 'new_code' },
TB would now crash when passing the hash for code thru to DBIx.
Comments for point 2
====================
Look at:
$builder->build({
source => 'UserPermission',
value => {
borrowernumber => $borrowerno,
module_bit => 99,
code => 'new_super_tool',
},
});
TB detects a fixed value for the module_bit, continues and will crash on
DBIx if the foreign keys are not found. In this case it would be friendly
to create a missing linked record.
Comments for point 3
====================
Look at:
$builder->build({
source => 'Branch',
value => { branchcode => 'CPL' },
});
If this branch already exists, this call would modify the branch record and
overwrite all columns with randomized values (expected or not). In any case,
it would be safer here to return undef than modifying an existing record.
Comments for point 4
====================
Look at:
$builder->build({
source => 'Borrower',
value => { borrowernumber => '123456789' },
});
If this number would exist, we would update (as earlier). But if this
number does not exist, we would create the record. Although that is
technically possible, I would prefer to have TB respect the auto
increment property of this column.
Comments for point 5
====================
Look at:
$builder->build({
source => 'Item',
value => { homebranch => { branchcode => 'MPL' } },
});
As discussed under point 3, we should actually not pass primary key values
if we expect to build new records. The same also holds for the deeper
(recursive) calls to build when using hashes like here for homebranch.
In this case again an existing record might be overwritten.
Comments for point 6
====================
Look at:
$builder->build({
source => 'Reserve',
value => { itemnumber => undef },
});
As you know, a reserve without an itemnumber is a biblio level hold.
Unfortunately, TB did not care about passing undefs until now. So you would
get an item level hold.
In the new situation TB will respect these explicit undefs, as long as the
corresponding foreign key column is nullable of course.
Comments for point 7
====================
This patch will allow you to delete records created by TB:
my $patron = $builder->build({ source => 'Borrower' });
$builder->delete({ source => 'Borrower', records => $patron });
Or:
$builder->delete({ source => 'Borrower', records => [ $patron, ... ] });
For safety, delete requires you to provide all primary key values in the
passed hashref(s).
Deleting all records in a table via clear is no longer supported and can
still be arranged in one statement.
Comments for point 8
====================
Current use of TestBuilder reveals that $default_values and only_fk
are not really needed. The current $default_values should imo not be in the
module anyway; if you want to use it, you could still pass it to TB:
$builder->build({ ..., value => { %defa, %your_values } });
Only_fk stops at the very last step of saving the top level record while
storing all linked records at the lower levels. Practical use is not
very obvious; it can be easily simulated by one delete statement.
The hash key _fk is now used to store all linked records one or more levels
down. It is used in a few tests to retrieve a value one level down.
Why not retrieve that one value via the database and get rid of the
whole structure?
Implementation
==============
This highlights the main changes:
The $default_value hash (with some hardcoded values for UserPermission)
is removed from the module. It was used by a test in TestBuilder.t and has
been relocated.
The value of $gen_type is returned now by sub _gen_type. (See new.)
The main change in the build method is moving the foreign keys logic to a
new subroutine _create_links. This routine now looks at all columns of a
composite FK. It checks if a linked record exists for passed values, and
it looks at NULL values.
Routine _buildColumnValues is slightly adjusted to allow for passed undef
values. The theoretically endless loop is replaced by three tries. For
composite unique constraints we only check complete sets of values.
Routine _getForeignKeys contains a check to not return the same relation
twice in case of doubled belongs_to relations in the DBIx scheme.
The eval in _storeColumnValues is removed. The autoincrement check in sub
_buildColumnValue got more priority; the handling of foreign keys has been
adjusted and a check for not-nullable columns has been added.
TEST PLAN
=========
This patch only deals with the TestBuilder module itself. In the follow-up
patches TestBuilder.t and a few other unit tests are adjusted.
[1] Do not yet apply this patch. But apply the 'OldBehavior' patch.
Verify that all tests pass. (They cover the first six design goals.)
[2] Apply this patch. Does TestBuilder still compile (perl -c)?
[3] Run the OldBehavior test again. Do all tests fail now? This means
that we got rid of all unwanted side-effects in the list of goals.
[4] Run some other tests that use TestBuilder. (See below.)

Items.t inserts an item via biblioitem not correctly linked to biblio.
The new foreign key constraint does not allow that.
Actually, we should be choosing to either remove biblioitems from Koha or
remove biblionumber from items.
Note: This seems to be the only case where an item is added this way.

This patch adds three parameters to the cron job: -before and -after, and
-branch.
You can run the cronjob now in an adjusted frequency: say once a week with
before 6 or after 6 (not both together). If your pref is set to 14, running
before=6 will include expiries from 8 days to 14 days ahead. When you
use after=6, you would include 14 days to 20 days ahead, etc.
You could also rerun the job of yesterday by setting before=1 and after=-1;
this could help in case of problem recovery.
Obviously, the branch parameter can be used as a filter.
NOTE: Why are these parameters passed only via the command line?
Well, obviously the branch parameter is not suitable for a pref.
The before/after parameter allows you to handle expiry mails different from
the normal scheme or could be used in some sort of recovery. In those cases
it will be more practical to use a command line parameter than editing a
pref.
NOTE: The unit test has been adjusted for the above reasons, but I also
added some lines to let existing expires not interfere with the added
borrowers by an additional count and using the branchcode parameter.
Test plan:
[1] Run the adjusted unit test GetUpcomingMembershipExpires.t
[2] Set the expiry date for patron A to now+16 (with pref 14).
Set the expiry date for patron B to now+11.
[3] Run the cronjob without range. You should not see A and B.
[4] Run the cronjob with before 3. You should see patron B.
[5] Run the cronjob with before 3 and after 2. You should see A and B.
[6] Repeat step 5 with a branchcode that does not exist. No patrons.

There are 2 prefs to drive this feature: StaffAuthorisedValueImages and
AuthorisedValueImages. AuthorisedValueImages is not added by
sysprefs.sql and does not appear in updatedatabase.pl, we could easily
imagine that nobody uses it.
With XSLT enabled, the feature is only visible on a record detail page
at the OPAC, if AuthorisedValueImages is set. Otherwise you need to turn
the XSLT off. In this case you will see the images on the result list
(OPAC+Staff interfaces) and OPAC detail page, but not the Staff detail
page.
This patch suggests to remove completely this feature as it does not
work correctly.
The ability to assign an image to an authorised value is now always
displayed, but the image will only be displayed on the advanced search
if defined.
Test plan:
Confirm that the authorised value images are no longer visible at the
opac and the staff interfaces.
The prefs should have been removed too.

This allows creation of special baskets that include standing orders.
These orders do not have a known quantity (and may not have a known
price in advance). Upon receipt, the received items are split into a new
completed order.
Test plan:
1) Run updatedatabase.pl.
2) Run prove t/db_dependent/Acquisition/StandingOrders.t . (and the
other Acquisition tests).
3) Create a new basket, mark it as a standing order basket.
4) Add an order to this basket, and notice that the quantity field is
missing (and thus not required).
5) Receive items for this order, and notice that the original order is
unchanged. The new child order line should have the correct price
and quantity information.

for Test::More's "isnt" in StandingOrders.t.)

Some libraries would like the ability to select the itemtype to request
when placing holds. For example, if a record has 3 copies of BookA and 3
copies of BookA in large print, this feature would allow a person to
place a hold on the record, but still be able to target only the Large
Print edition so that the first Large Print copy that becomes available
is targeted, rather than forcing the patron to select a particular copy
to hold.

Some libraries would like to be able to limit hold filling to items that
match the pickup library for a hold based on the item's home or holding
library. The patron's home library should not affect whether a patron
can place the hold, instead the hold will only be fillable when an item
matching the pickup location becomes available.

3) Note the new "Hold pickup library match" rules for "checkout, hold,
and return policy" and for "holds policy by item type"
4) Set the policy to "item's holding library"
5) Place a hold where the item's holding branch does not match
the pickup branch
